There seems to be a lack of visual damage on the F-86 from gun fire. I hit the Sabre over a hundred times on the wings and fuselage but the only damage I see is a smattering of bullet holes around the engine. The only exception is when the Sabre is destroyed and a wing comes off.

As an aside, the roundels and the big "USAF" are still missing.

A lack of visual damage on all DCS aircraft is a big drawback I have noticed coming from other flight games/simulators. In IL-2 1946 if you hit an aileron enough, the aileron would come off etc...

Yes, but I'm saying we used to see a lot more visual damage on the Sabre but something's changed.

Have you had your eyes closed when you fly other DCS World modules?

Frankly I think none of you are being fair in the slightest when it comes to comparing DCS World damage models to other sims.

If things are as bad as you say, why are you here instead of "playing" with IL-2 1946?

I was comparing DCS World damage models to DCS World damage models.

I noticed yesterday that the only visible bullet holes where all in the area of the tail where the number decal is. I will go back to the replay from yesterday's flight and take a screen shot to post. Is it that no"damage skin"is present except the tail# area?

Yup, that's what I noticed as well (see my screens in the first post).
