Caspet Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 (edited) Hi. Is it safe to remove BS1 after installing BS2 upgrade into DCS World? Cheers.:drunk: Edited February 7, 2015 by Caspet Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee Muhammad Ali-(Cassius Clay) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
zaelu Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 (edited) It safe to delete the content of the folder. Keep only "\DCS Ka-50\bin\stable", maybe not even that. The data about your BS1 is kept in the registry normally. But don't uninstall it. I guess you want the space on the hard drive, right? It would be nice if ED would give possibility to merge the 2 keys into one key of DCS BS 2. edit I just completly uninstall mine (I had the bin and few other small folders still) and I checked the keys in the registry... they remained there. Sure a backup would be good though. This is where the keys are: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Eagle Dynamics\Black Shark\Keys\License0 Edited February 7, 2015 by zaelu [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] I5 4670k, 32GB, GTX 1070, Thrustmaster TFRP, G940 Throttle extremely modded with Bodnar 0836X and Bu0836A, Warthog Joystick with F-18 grip, Oculus Rift S - Almost all is made from gifts from friends, the most expensive parts at least
Caspet Posted February 7, 2015 Author Posted February 7, 2015 Thanks zaelu  Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee Muhammad Ali-(Cassius Clay) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Azrayen Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 However, uninstalling may remove (delete) the whole Eagle Dynamics folder from your Windows' start menu, including the DCS World shortcuts (launch, update, repair, docs) My advice is to make a copy of it before uninstalling BS1.
zaelu Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Yes I confirm this "mishap" :D . Luckily I had the shortcuts copied on my Desktop. I attached my shortcuts so if someone lost his shortcuts could recreate them with them (the addresses have to be edited or other shortcuts created after their model)DCS World Shortcuts.rar [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] I5 4670k, 32GB, GTX 1070, Thrustmaster TFRP, G940 Throttle extremely modded with Bodnar 0836X and Bu0836A, Warthog Joystick with F-18 grip, Oculus Rift S - Almost all is made from gifts from friends, the most expensive parts at least
Angel101 Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 for BS2 update users... they still needs to install BS1 to install BS in DCS: World??? They didn´t remove that??? and now you are able to install the BS module directly with the BS2 update key. I´m a little confused.
Ramstein Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 THEY LEFT US WITH 2 CHOICES, CONTINUE THE BS1 PLUS UGRADE = BS2. or, just toss bs1 and bs2 upgrade away and buy it all over again, as bs2. We, BS1 upgraders, asked them to just let us exchange bs1 plus bs2 upgrade for the regular BS2, but they refused. So, pick your poison.
