I've just attempted to fly the easy target practice mission. When I contact the AWACS to get a PICTURE the altitude of the contact is reported in ft. This is fine except for the fact that the Mig altimeter is in meters. I'm pretty good with numbers but I'd rather not have to do a conversion on the fly :) So am I missing something?? Can I get the AWACS to report meters? Thanks.

On the fly I can suggest yout to divide the Altitude from the AWACS by 3.

So lets say your Bogey ist at Angels 20 he is at around 6600m.

Cheers.

^ That's what I do as well. 3:1 is close enough to get an idea of where they're at, there's not too much to be gained narrowing it down more precisely than that.

I'd say division takes too much conscious effort, especially by 3 or by 7.

I multiply by 3 and then drop a zero (divide by 10). It's also more accurate!

I know that as divide by 10 then multiply by 3, same thing. That is the standard conversion for when you have to do it mentally and much more accurate than divide by 3.

I'm sure you can change the setting in option between metric and imperial.

My AWACS is in metres, so I'm guessing your option in set to imperial

Not sure about that. "Metric" set here, yet in target practice missions I get altitudes given in feet.
