And where in the FMB is that "Cargo" object, so I can design a mission with the object there to load? Can the Mi-8 carry cargo on sling too?

I don't understand anything in russian except Davai Davai!

The cargo can be found in the mission editor under the static objects tab. Once placed in the ME you have to tick a box to allow it to be picked up, you can also change the weight.

The Mi-8 can pick up cargo but the cargo cam is not yet implemented so you need to use F2 view or land close beside the cargo:)

Once you get used to it, it actually is quit easy to just hover above the cargo without the F2 view or the cargo cam.

I added the cargo, ticked the box, but nothing happens when I hover over it, no message If I click the attach cargo combination, nothing. I'm doing something wrong?

Maybe. Did you use the radio menu to select the cargo first? You have to do that before you can hook it up.

When you have selected the cargo with F6 and approach it, enable the cargo cam. Not sure of the shortcut for keyboard. I have it mapped to a HOTAS button.

Once you have the cargo cam showing it gives visual hints till you are in the zone where you can see the cargo in the camera.

TBH the way it sits on the screen puts me off somewhat and I have trouble keeping a steady hover when looking at the cargo cam.

Good luck:)

What I found really works best is to have a picture snapshot of main instruments panel with outside view, and keep that view once stable hovered over cargo. The other day I tried picking up cargo in Kirks hangar server but failed to do so, even though I had my spotlight bracketing the cargo, and was 7-9 feet above it, in windy conditions, very stable, but tried the hotas command and it did not pickup the cargo. Will test more but I think each chopper had its own carrier so that may explain it, unless cargo cant be assigned to specific callsigns that is.

Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.

WildBill, i think you have to be at 13 to 19 ft above cargo to be able to hook.

I do not use any cam or visual help and when i hover over cargo i pass it slowly nose over and let it pass few ft till i stop and hover. I maintain hover by looking at whole horizon in front and aside and not by focusing an object (this way i get better sense of how i hover). Anyway, this works for me :)
