look in the mod forum you will find all the info in there and glad you got it all sorted bud :D

not sure that all is sorted out.... still in testing. but I really miss that FPS Fix. it really worked (well. until it crashed...) I really wish there was something as good as it was. Thanx for all your help and I hope I won't be troubling you no more...

No no trouble.

FPS mods usually change the LOD L01 and L12 for day and night to lower the FPS. You can change this manually with wordpad or with an app called LOCFG. IIRC its hosted over at lockonfiles.com. ThomasDW also has a 1.12 compatible FPS mod but read the readme file. It loads the Su-27 and Su-33 with missiles that are not accepted on the MP servers.

I THINK

the FPS FIX I used was ThomasDW "1.12a compatible" mod. for some reason it seemed to create some trouble for me. maybe it's because it's for 1024X768 res and I use 1200X1600? I don't know...

now, about that LOD L01. L12... could you spare some more details on how to do it?

*edit*

OK check this:

changed my land day to:

L01=4000

L12=20000

and had a CTD right after it (memory could be "read" etc.) when I tried to launch again it was fine....I don't know what to make out of it....*sigh*

also: did a CHkdsk /F and rebooted... the system check the volume and then told me that the "system was recovered after a Fatal error"

I'm reading from your compu's specs that you run dual core.

Are you using the 'procaff' tool to bind the lomac process to one

core? IIRC you'll see lot of stuttering w/o it. I own an X2 4400

and there is no need for a FPS tweak.

Here's a link - just in case:

http://www.stefan-kuhr.de/procaff/main.php3

about procaff -

1. is it safe to use? i.e can it **** up my computer (sounds dumb but I'm not a coputer wiz and I don't want to do something that I will not be able to Undo)

2. what command line should I use?

3. most importently where is it installed and how do I uninstall it?

It will do no harm. Get the zip file and and unzip, no matter where.

Then change the command line for Lockon to something like this:

C:\procaff\procaff.exe /run 1 "C:\Programme\Ubisoft\Eagle Dynamics\Lock On\lockon.exe"

You have to choose your drive(s) and path(s) and put spaces around "/run" and "1".

If you want to "uninstall", just delete it. There is no fancy install/uninstall

and nothing will be changed in the registry. Source code is included.

Never installed it, my XP language version required some support contract.

OK

so I did a complete reformat. install a new XP orofessional OS. install LOMAC BEFORE anything else - same thing happens. same error log. am I doomed not be able to play LockOn? is there any solution to this

whatsoever?

I think I have tried everything even rolled back my version to FC1.11 instead of 1.12a... this never happent on my old P4 2.6Mhz... am I being punished for going the AMD way?

mind you, it's a very frustrating error cause it's so random. so far it only happened in campaign mode - stocked campaigns but everyone of them...sometimes I can fly 2,3 campaign missions wuth no trouble and than I crash is the 4th mission...and an error like this appears in my error log:

/29/2006 14:56 V502031740

I need a fix 'cause I'm goin' down...

Only had a quick flick through the replies in this thread, not sure if this has been mentioned, but have you tried raising your system DRAM voltage? in my motherboard BIOS i can select 0.1 and 0.2, you might have the same. Increasing 0.2 (should make your RAM run at 2.8v) can improve stability a great deal.......also check your DRAM Timings too (CAS, RAS etc) make sure those are at relaxed settings like CAS 2.5 or 3.0.

Hi mustang

I seem to have different setting than yours. my values come with a "T" next to them, it looks like this:

min RAS# active timer (Tras) [8T]

RAS# to CAS# delay (Trcd) [3T]

READ to WRITE time [5T]

WRITE Recovery time [3T]

1T/2T memory timing [2T]

can you make something out of it? I can't change it to 0.1 or 0.2 I can just change number of "T"s (whatever they stand for)

hmm looking at your current RAM timings it looks as if they are already on relaxed settings........the 0.1 and 0.2 i was refering to was the increments you use to increase system DRAM voltage, your BIOS again may report this setting differently : basically try and aim to increase your RAM voltage, if possible, to 2.8volts and see if that stabilises things.
