JakeMe Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 Hi I just bought the Mi8 and have been having a problem or two. - Upon liftoff the hell starts spinning to the left. Annoyingly. - The back part comes off. Any help? Thanks
ricktoberfest Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 DCS Rudder issues. Apply right rudder Avoid slamming tail rotor into ground
JakeMe Posted February 13, 2015 Author Posted February 13, 2015 Apply right rudder Oh yes! I've done that, thing is it's too much, it still goes to the right...
ricktoberfest Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 There is a lot of torque at high engine loads. Try lifting off slower
ricktoberfest Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 I should apologize. I was being sarcastic, but I'm guessing you're new to helicopter flight dynamics? It would be best to watch some YouTube videos where the guy shows control positions. Also, with helicopters the joystick and throttle quality are important. Keyboard and mouse is incredibly hard.
Cibit Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 Trim your stick back and to the right before raising collective. Art-J Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 JakeMe, You can use autopilot yaw channel to do the compensation job for You. But then, because of some quirks about autopilot vs. rudder trim operation, You will still have to do some youtube watching and manual reading to learn how to use the yaw channel correctly. i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.
ChamKing Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 This could be pilot error but I'd add that awhile ago I had some form of game data corruption that caused my MI-8 to spin at such extreme speed that the machine would rip itself apart, no amount of rudder could correct this and the problem would even happen in air starts with 150km/h or more forward speed. Removing and reinstalling DCS solved the issue.
