I am not able to use the F8 key some of the time, and I used a program called

keyboard tester and while in DCS and using TIR5, the F7, F8, would do nothing

and the F9 key would not register on the tester, but would change the lights

on the track IR5. I turned off the software for TIR5 and everything worked

just fine. How do I get the TrackIR5 software to allow me to use my F8

key, as I need it for ground power for my F86. It works the very first time

when I need ground power, but never afterwards, to shut it off.

Thanks for any help with this...................

TrackIR can be set to trap the key presses that it uses. You can disable the trap function in TIR, or change the key assignment in TIR or DCS.

Thank You for your help. I just was in my F86 and when the F8 would not let me turn off

ground power, I alt/tabbed to main screen and turned off the TIR5 and then back to

DCS and F8 worked and I was able to turn off ground power.......but then the TIR5

would not see the game.

I appreciate your help with this !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Try to change the key bindings for "centre" "pause" & "pressission" to something DCS does'nt use. I use ~, caps lock, & mouse button 3 at the moment.

RT CTRL-F9 to pause and RT CTRL-F12 to center are not used by DCS, and are just a modifier from the default TrackIR defaults. I disable the other two commands since I never use them.

TrakIR software MUST be open prior to launching the game or it will not work, hence why alt tabbing and turning it off did not work the way you wanted it.

I have set NUMPAD keys as my pause, center and precision buttons, thus freeing my radio keys. I suggest you do the same.

I tried the TRAP option OFF and it does not seem to work for the F keys for radio, strange!

Simple solution though: change the keys!

It is important to be aware that TIR does not differentiate between left and right Ctrl, Shift or Alt keys.

I use Shift, Ctrl and Alt combined with the Backspace key for my TIR.

I use Shift-F"whatever" for all the TIR commands. Never had a problem again.

That's obvious and therefore unimportant. I only indicated it as such since it's on the same side of the keyboard as the default keys. So rather than reinvent the wheel, my point was to to simply add the control modifier and you are done.
