=Pedro= Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 (edited) Hi, I finally decided to get my hands over one of the new module recently available aircrafts. I have a hard choice to make between MiG-15bis and F-86F. I want to ask you guys what is your opinion about those birds? What do you suggest lads? Personally I fly F-15C and sometimes Su-27 very rare A-10C. Also I wonder if any campaigns come with these two jests ? What do you recon? Thanks for all the constructive answers, =Pedro=. P.S. And no, I can't have them both at the moment (maybe in the futere:) :D Edited March 9, 2015 by =Pedro= speling Gigabyte Z390 Gaming X | i7 9700K@5.0GHz | Asus TUF OC RTX 4090 | 32GB DDR4@3200MHz | HP Reverb G2 | TrackIR 5 | TM Warthog HOTAS | MFG Croswinds
kontiuka Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 (edited) I only have the F-86 so I can't really compare but I've been told it is quite a bit faster in level flight than the Mig. It can also carry rockets and 2 500 lb bombs. I think the Mig can only carry 2 smaller bombs. And the F-86 has the radar gun sight which can also be used for dive bombing. EDIT: On the other hand, the Mig is a better climber and if you like big guns, it has the 2 23mm and the 37 mm. And the Mig comes with a lot of sexy skins. The Sabre, at the moment, only comes with 1 skin although there are plenty of community skins out there. Edited March 9, 2015 by kontiuka
ZQuickSilverZ Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 (edited) I also only have the F-86. It was a simple aircraft to learn (by DCS standards) and seems to be a solid performer. Learning bombing might take a bit........ If you really want to do a comparison I suggest you do a little bit of "YouTube" research. That way you can actually see how the pilot interacts with the airframes and see which one "fits" you more. Edited March 9, 2015 by ZQuickSilverZ I need, I need, I need... What about my wants? =Pedro= Posted March 9, 2015 Author Posted March 9, 2015 Thanks Guys! Actually i did some research on YT and I think I would be more familiar with Sabre jet. Anyway I'm going to by it in an hour maybe two, so if any of you guys have something to say to change what I choosed, do it now :) Gigabyte Z390 Gaming X | i7 9700K@5.0GHz | Asus TUF OC RTX 4090 | 32GB DDR4@3200MHz | HP Reverb G2 | TrackIR 5 | TM Warthog HOTAS | MFG Croswinds
kontiuka Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 I'm sure either is a good choice but the Sabre is quite fun so go for it!
MTFDarkEagle Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Recently bought the MiG, while having had the 86 for a longer time (since release time). If I'd be presented with the choice now, I'd go for the MiG. Lukas - "TIN TIN" - 9th Shrek Air Strike Squadron TIN TIN's Cockpit thread
Bucic Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 An unusual approach; if you own a good set of pedals select the one with worse yaw stability. Which would be the MiG :) Why? Because such a property gives better 'I'm flying a plane. In the air!' sensation. What do you think? F-5E simpit cockpit dimensions and flight controls Kill the Bloom - shader glow mod Poor audio Doppler effect in DCS [bug] Trees - huge performance hit especially up close
mjmorrow Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 (edited) The Sabre and the Fagot are both fantastic. I have both and I love both. I am mostly a multiplayer focused guy. For me, specializing in the Mig-15bis makes more sense. There are already many players with a ton of F-86F experience and there are already F86F virtual squads. Mig pilots just got their rides and some of us have only several days of multiplayer dogfighting experience with the Mig. Some Sabre pilots have been dogfighting other Sabres for many months. I am going to get better and much more competitive, much faster, by flying against these fantastic and experienced Sabre pilots, than by picking up a Sabre and sim flying on their side. If multiplayer wasn' t my main consideration, it would be a coin toss. The Sabre is a superlative air superiority fighter, the Fagot is a fantastic point defense interceptor. I think you will have a great time with the Sabre and you can pick up the Fagot later on. MJ Edited March 9, 2015 by mjmorrow [sIGPIC]http://i688.photobucket.com/albums/vv250/mjmorrow76/SPAD%20of%20a%20new%20generation_zpshcbftpce.png[/sIGPIC]
=Pedro= Posted March 9, 2015 Author Posted March 9, 2015 OK lads, I just became a happy owner of the F-86F Sabre :) Again, thanks for all the valuable advice ;) Gigabyte Z390 Gaming X | i7 9700K@5.0GHz | Asus TUF OC RTX 4090 | 32GB DDR4@3200MHz | HP Reverb G2 | TrackIR 5 | TM Warthog HOTAS | MFG Croswinds

Because such a property gives better 'I'm flying a plane. In the air!' sensation. What do you think? As you said, it's very unusual approach indeed. So if I had a good set of pedals (unfortunately only a "twist" option in my joystick) I would go for MiG, but in this case I've chosen Sabre. I'm not saying I will not go for Mig at all. I just need some time playing with my new toy and than I will take the other option :) Thans again Pilots! and c u in the sky ;) Gigabyte Z390 Gaming X | i7 9700K@5.0GHz | Asus TUF OC RTX 4090 | 32GB DDR4@3200MHz | HP Reverb G2 | TrackIR 5 | TM Warthog HOTAS | MFG Croswinds
