Hey guys. So im a newb and ive been looking but reallu cant find an answer other than "its supposed to be like that"

But its not right! Drives me nuts!!

So basically, When i manipulate my camera so that my head is in the CORRECT position, and im not sitting literally on the stick, my hud is WAY too large. Not the font, but the entire field of view.

It SHOULDNT be like this. You should be able to see the entire hud from the eye point, and remain in view as you lean foreward, increasing the font size. This is how real huds work, ive worked on them.

As it stands, i have my head on the headrest, and i have to lean ALL the way foreward to get the entire hud in view and the text and symbols do not scale...its almost as if the symbols and text are out in front of the plane or locked to my eyepoint... i cannot find how to fix this, all combinations of camera views wont fix it...

This bothers me so much i dont even want to take the time to learn the A10C until i can get a proper view....

This is the only plane whose pilot seems to love having the stick up his bum...

I am one of many others that have concluded that the default head position is not accurate and in an effort to make the same corrections that you have made, ended up with the same result, with no available way to modify the HUD size. It is apparent that ED considers the default view to be accurate and as long as that is the case we will just have to accept it as is. I only wish I had a chance to consult a real A10 pilot to get clarity on this issue and until then I must admit that my opinion remains pure speculation based solely on photos of pilots sitting in the pit. I used to think it was a big issue but I don't give it much thought any more.:noexpression:

really it should act like every other hud in the sim... this has been the only plane ive had that problem with...

*** actually just tested and it looks like they all do that if you move your position back... an easy fix would be to just add a fov knob for the hud...

I have learned to accept this head position and don't try to move it. I'm sure they positioned it this way so you'd have an easy view of the MFCDs yeah it's odd but it works

That's the first thing I tried to do with this sim, change the head position till I realized is messes up everything else.

Bothers me also, but I expect it was a compromise of some sort, to get the columative HUD to work properly and the FOV.

I am no expert, so I just have to except ed's decision on this one.

There is a zoom axis that will enlarge the HUD text, but will not change perspective. Some people prefer that one to the y position for trackir. Or you con map it in another hotas axis. Or even joystick buttons, as there is that option too for zoom.
