Thick8 Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 Hi Kuky, thanks for your comments. Even worse if, like myself, you have to wear progressive correction lenses with the close up area located at the botton of the glasses. I feel my neck making stange noises and the TrackIR view going to the clouds and beyond... Regards, I had my optometrist make a pair of cheap glasses that focus at 42" in front of me. I swap out my progressive lens glasses whenever I sit down at my gaming machine. Works perfectly. I normally wear progressives as well but I have a set of single vision that I use with large displays. I don't notice the issue as much with smaller displays but with my 42" sim display the progressives are a significant issue. So I am taking note of your solution, guys, and will have one ready for my flying sessions. Regards
Greekbull Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 Are you running SLI? If so I just upgraded this week and ran into issues. The solution was to change the refresh from 60Hz to 59Hz and everything works perfectly. Nvidia is working on a fix. Not sure if that applies to you or not. But it had me frustrated until I found a solution. jcbak Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 Let me ask you folks with 4k monitors. If it blew up today, would you replace it with another 4K monitor? I'm considering upgrading my monitor to something larger. I currently run a 28 inch 1080 monitor. I have no complaints...just want to go larger (which is what my first wife said...long story). I'm hesitant to move to a 4K due to the scaling. Chief1942 Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 I enjoy my 4K except for the issues you alluded to. The font scaling, especially in DCSW is sadly lacking. There are some mods that others have been so kind to develop and they help with certain aspects. But if you're trying to run 4k and read the info bar on, say the Mission planner, Good luck. I've taken to using a magnifying glass so that I don't click on the wrong item in the drop down menus. I would most likely get another 4k if i had to replace this one because the graphics are just to nice once you have experienced it. The "scaling" issue will hopefully be rectified with DCSW 2.0. Fingers crossed on that one. ESA Dodo Posted October 24, 2015 Author Posted October 24, 2015 Yes, I will. Probably I am not taking the best from it yet, but 4K and/or UHD are becoming the new video standard and I hope those minor issues will be fixed shortly.
