qmaster312 Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Hello, I've had a saitek x55 for almost a year, but last week I sent it on RMA for a problem. However I was told it was unrepairable so I will get my money back. Which joystick shall I buy? I play DCS A10c, DCS Huey, FSX and sometimes falcon BMS. Is the TM Warthog good for all of those games? Thanks My system: Intel Core i7 4770K@3.5Ghz, 16Gb Crucial 1600mhz DDR3, MSI GTX660 Gaming, Scythe Mugen 4, Samung 850 EVO 500GB, Fractal Design Define R4, WD Green 2TB, Windows 10 TM Warthog, Saitek Pro Flight Cessna Rudders DCS: A10C, UH-1, F15C "When everything seem to be going against you, remember that the airplane takes off against the wind, not with it..." fixen Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 (edited) I have the warthog and it's great, but... I would only recommend it when you get an extension aswell. When I first got it i was kinda dissapointed. I could not get accurat movements out of the stick. When I attached the extension to the stick that all went away though and now its flying great. Even helicopters can be done with an extension. With extension its the best mass produced stick I can think off. This is my experience and other people might have different views. Oydoron Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 I haven't tried an extension, but by modifying the curves I've been able to achieve whatever accuracy I want.
fixen Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 I said it wrong, it's not so much the lack of accuracy but more a lack of smoothness which results in accuracy loss. With the extension I get great accuracy without setting curves.
Random Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Spitsim Edge Combat stick was my choice. Very smooth accurate and progressive.
qmaster312 Posted April 22, 2015 Author Posted April 22, 2015 I think I'll go with the Warthog then, those other options are a little too expensive for me ;) My system: Intel Core i7 4770K@3.5Ghz, 16Gb Crucial 1600mhz DDR3, MSI GTX660 Gaming, Scythe Mugen 4, Samung 850 EVO 500GB, Fractal Design Define R4, WD Green 2TB, Windows 10 TM Warthog, Saitek Pro Flight Cessna Rudders DCS: A10C, UH-1, F15C "When everything seem to be going against you, remember that the airplane takes off against the wind, not with it..." Wrecking Crew Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 I love my Warthogs (have two). I do miss two rotary axis on the throttle, though -- for the F-15C's Antenna and Range knobs. Other than that, both the stick and throttle are fine for flying the A-10C, F-15C and Huey. Bourrinopathe Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 (edited) You should take a look at the VKB Black Mamba and its great metal gimbal but if you're mostly flying western aircraft the Warthog replica may be more attractive. You can also use a Warthog grip with the Black Mamba and use an extender. Where and how do you place your stick ?

qmaster312 Posted April 23, 2015 Author Posted April 23, 2015 Got my warthog today, I love it. I thought the X55 was good, but the warthog is just amazing, it's so smooth and accurate. Wrecking Crew Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 Does any other throttle supply the two rotary axis you miss ? The old Cougar did, and I'm pretty sure that Saitek includes both. I've looked at these -- 3Dconnexion And I bought one of these but it did NOT work out -- Griffin PowerMate WC Visit the Hollo Pointe DCS World server -- an open server with a variety of COOP & H2H missions including Combined Arms.
