escaner Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 (edited) I just received these controls today from Amazon and this switch feels weird. A lot of play in the center position and very low quality. It also feels lighter pushing it forward and heavier backwards. Not sure whether it should just be like that or better ask for a replacement... I would appreciate comments from other owners. Thank you! PS: I can't seem to put the video showing the problem inline, so I will just leave the link Edited May 14, 2015 by escaner [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Boltz Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 That is normal. It is flimsy, low quality and easily knocked into the wrong position. An upgrade is needed I think. 1 A-10C Cockpit Build Thread My YouTube Channel
jcbak Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 Normal. It's not the same quality as the rest of the unit. I wish there was a better quality replacement available. 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]WIN 10, i7 10700, 32GB DDR4, RTX 2080 Super, Crucial 1TB SSD, Samsung EVO 850 500GB SSD, TM Warthog with 10cm extension, TIR5, MFG Crosswind Pedals, Wheelstand Pro, LG 40" 4K TV, Razer Black Widow Ultimate KB[/size]
Dagger71 Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 I haven't taken the throttle stick apart but I think it comes down to not having enough tension. It is the same switch as used on the base, but with much less tension applied. I find it a bit too flimsy as well and have it mapped to TrackIr, so every now and then, either the center or pause gets triggered by merely brushing the switch. This usually happens when zoomed in coming in for a gun/rocket attack, forcing me to abort. Frustrating, but not game breaking.
IonicRipper Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 My guess is that its made like that on purpose to be easier to operate with the pinky finger. i5 4590 @ 3.77GHz | GTX 1060 6GB | 16GB 1600MHz DDR3 | 1TB HDD+500GB HDD | Win10 Home X64 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
