I was flying in f-15 at high altitude at low rpm setting then I increased the throttle to 100%, plane starts to lose speed more slowly. Everything OK. Then I engaged afterburners and wth??? It starts quickly loosing speed, I make sure everything is as it should be and try again. And the same story. The plane bleeds speed more quickly with afterburners engaged than with normal power at high altitude. Its like deploying an airbrake. What is this all about?:helpsmilie:

And another thing. F-15 cockpit symbology is absolutely unreadable. At 1024x768 or 1280x1024 its impossible to read HUD or PACS or RWR at default cockpit fov. ( how do you change it to be like in Lomac?) My question is why is this the case, because it was completely fine in 1.02 at such resolutions. Now its practicaly impossible to fly F-15 because of such serious flaws and its bugs.

high altitude

That's the key :) relax, this will shock you: this is real. If you are at high altitude, you must go very fast in ground speed just for stay in the air.

But the main reason for this problem: If your RPM is about 80-100%, watch the nozzles position against a low RPM (however it is modelled correctly on F-18 :( ) They're narrowing to make more thrust. But if you engage the AB, the nozzles spread back on their positions and with this, youre losing thrust even if you are at AB, bacause you are at high altitude. This never happens at low alt.

This is a bug.

At high altitudes and low speeds (rpm) you shouldnt be able to light on afterburner because air don't have enough oxygen. Normally computers will not allow you to lose the thrust in such situation. Max you can have is intermediate power (without afterburner) Situation will change when you will fly fast enough at high altitude. Bigger air flow will give you more oxygen + intakes will additionaly compress the air and that = more thrust

Sorry to gatecrash but I think there's also a problem in the F-15's shadow, the Pilot's shadow is missing whereas it was complete back in 1.02.
