Working good ;)

Did you further investigate the speedbrake issues for the A10?

Regarding the universal interface... I really like to see support for X-Plane ;), if there where a general interface, maybe someday ...

Cheers!

Yes, I've made some further research.

./Cockpit/Scripts/mainpanel_init.lua:536: flag_SPEEDBRAKE = counter()

seems to be a flag for Voice Message "Speedbrake! Speedbrake!". So we can't rely on it.

Do we have a clickable button or lever for speedbrake? At clickabledata.lua I just have found 'Speed Brake Emergency Retract'

I think the speedbrake is not clickable in the a10c.

The speedbrake is controlled by the hotas:

Keys.Plane_HOTAS_SpeedBrakeSwitchForward

Maybe we should ask someone from the homepit builders?

I have a question for buttkicker users, do you get shake in afterburner in MiG-21Bis at your normal amplifier levels? For me I have to turn my buttkicker amp to 1/2 way to just feel the shake from afterburner even with slider moved all the way to 100%. I can ask Andrey to increase the volume for the afterburner shake but wonder if that will be too much for the rest of you?

Kuky,

I'm using my one sounds and bodyshaker. The sounds are the original sounds pitched down to meet the capabilities of my shaker. For my setup, the main reason is that Andrey uses higher frequencies as my shaker is able to handle, thus I feel nothing instead I hear the sound ;)

If someone is interested in my workflow, I could write a small tutorial...

I'd like to see your method.

There is something funny going on with Afterburner shake effect. I turned up my Buttkicker amp to 1/2 way... hopped in MiG-21Bis and I just noticed that when my air brakes are open, the shake is different when afterburner is on or off.

With afterburner on shake is bit stronger, with them open I can feel if I have afterburner on or off, but without air brakes, with afterburner the shake is barely noticeable.

I have turned up the level of afterburner effect sound. Please restart Sound Module to update it and test again the effect.

Is it enough?

Personally, I would increase it a bit more :)

On another note, as when firing the gun shake is very strong, I have reduced that effect to 10% and testing it at that level is ok now, but on some occasion the shake is much stronger than normal. I have a feeling that there is some bug where volume of effect is increased by adding volume of another effect, for example, if afterburner is on, and I fire the gun, sometimes (not always though) the gun shake is too strong. I wonder if anyone encountered this?

I can say I've experienced the same with a10c and ka50 cannon. Have set it to 27 percent but since last update it is uber strong even at that setting. I'll continue to mess with it

Hi Kuky,

I've just thought... what about frequency cutoff setting at your amplifier? Could you turn it up? It may cause a strong impact ...

I do have high freq cut-over switch turned on and its set at 50Hz (range is 40Hz-110Hz). What should I set it at?

Hi fellas,

my BK amplifier wont turn on anymore. I just have the amber light and no matter what I do it won't turn green and I get no signal.

Any ideas?

My workflow to edit Andreys sound files to meet my bodyshakers capabilities

In the following I'll give a short overview of my workflow to edit the sound files...

I'm using Reaper to edit my sounds. There is a free trail version available at reaper.fm

I assume, that Reaper is configured and some basic controls are known.

Preparation:

  1. Check the "Use My Own .Wav Files" box in Sound Module
  2. Choose a folder to use
  3. Use your file browser to navigate to this folder.
  4. Then, create a new folder inside this folder
  5. Copy all sounds in this new folder

Steps in Reaper:

  1. Launch Reaper
  2. In Reaper, configure the output so that the sound will be played by the soundcard used for your speaker. Usually Reaper uses ASIO devices. Thus, it might be necessary to install ASIO4All... With left alt+r you can open the "Routing Matrix". Here you can configure which track/master should be played on which soundcard/channel. The first row is for the master output. Add the master out to the soundcard, the bodyshaker is connected to...
  3. Move all sound files, which where copied to the new folder, into Reaper by drag and drop.
  4. Reaper will ask you if you like to add all files to a single track or to create a track for every file. Select create track for every file.
  5. You should now see all files on separate tracks.
  6. With the solo mode (S) you can preview one track. If you don't like the feeling you can edit it.

Editing:

  1. Note the original volume of the sound file...
  2. By clicking on the FX button of a track you can add effects. I'm mainly using ReaPitch and EQ. With ReaPitch you can change the pitch of the soundfile without time stretching.
  3. I use the play repeat function to preview the soundfile while editing the parameters of the effect.
  4. Due to changes of pitch and eq, the volume might be changed. Reduce the volume thus it is similar to the original file...

Rendering:

  1. Select all files with ctrl+a
  2. File->Render...
  3. Select "Render: Selected media items"
  4. Choose an appropriate folde and make shure that the filename is $item
  5. Render all files

Finish:

  1. Copy the rendered files into the main folder specified for "Use My Own .Wav Files" box in Sound Module. Attention, Sound Module must be closed!

Have fun ;)

A small issue Andre, I can't get rid of the software!

I have uninstalled it, cleaned the registry from any traces but still it wants to install itself again on every reboot! How do I solve this?

May be you had checked "Start when Windows starts" options..

If so, find and remove shortcut "SimShaker for DCS World.appref-ms" at Sturt-up folder.

For Win 8.1 it's located at C:\Users\[your name]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup.
