Thanks overalien.

I don't think that's the issue. The frequency of the test file is 20hz I believe, which is noticeable for me with my setup. I'm getting good results with other software and even with the test.wav file played externally. There seems to be something else going on here.

Hi KiloBravo,

hmh, sounds strange. I think it should just work in your case even witout the samples frequency changes. May I see good quality screenshots of your SimShaker Sound Module and SimShaker for Aviators settings?

Thanks Andre.

Here's a screenshot of the two pieces of software. The Nvidia audio is being used to drive the amp driving the shakers.

Hopefully this is the screenshot you need for Simshaker wings.

I really went through my setup this morning as the problem felt like the volume was being attenuated somewhere. The test.wav effect could be felt but was very weak. I uncovered multiple hardware issues on my end to do with the signal processing in the amp I'm using. Once I set those all back to normal I thought surely I've found the answer. But no. The problem is the same but only with the Simshaker Sound Module.

As an aside. Simshaker Wings is now so powerful I've had to turn down my amp. So good result in that respect.

Hi Bob1943.

I'm using an old home theatre amp which is 100w/channel. I'm using the L & R outputs. I know it's not ideal, but it's what I've got.

Cheers

Thanks. Also, is your amp connected to a second, external sound card for SimShaker?

Yes I am using a separate sound card. It's the sound out of my graphics card. My main audio is from the motherboard.

Thank you. I think it should just work.

Have you checked App volumes in the Windows settings?

Yes the software volume is at 100%. Not sure where to go from here. I'll keep thinking about it. Maybe I need to amplify each of the sound files?

I ran into the same issue with two Aurasound shakers mounted on opposite sides of my Simlab P1X. It turned out that with both shakers facing each other and playing the same sound file would cancel each other out (almost perfectly, to my surprise). Lowering the volume on one side would result in increased vibration. I had no way of configuring phase for one side of my amp, so I flipped the positive and negative wires for one of the two sides. Now the shakers vibrate "with" each other instead of "against" each other and I get full vibration power.

Sounds interesting. Thank you for sharing that.

Well, if nothing helps try whatever you can imagine. For me, that usually works.

Hmmm. Thanks for that. I’m running two shakers in a fore and aft configuration. One under my seat and one up front under the pedals. I’ll certainly look into that. I’d do however get really good results with SSW in IL2 and with a straight sound signal from YouTube. It’s worth exploring however.

Hello... Is normal that I can't feel the afterburner in the F18 (or it is very very subtle) even at 100 level? I'm using one butkicker and the sound module, and I imagined a good kick in the ass when activating it ;-). I can feel all the others effects very pronounced even at 50.

Does the SimShaker sound module software have a Menu that allows you to select the sound card that will be used with the software?

I am planning on ordering an Aura bass shaker and an external USB sound card. Wanted to make sure that I could still direct the normal DCS sound files to my speaker system while directing the Simshaker vibration effects only to the bass shaker.

Hello,

what if you disable all the other effects and try it alone, will it be the same very subtle?

Sorry Andre but I am totally new to this and just got a Buttkicker 2. Do I need both the Simshaker sound module and simshaker wings for DCS?

System Specs: 13900K, Strix Z790 Gaming E, MSI 4090 Sprim Liquid X  OC'd, 64gb Gskill Trident Z DDR5, Samsung 980 PRO M.2 SSD,. Winwing throttle, Winwing panels/MIPs and VKB GF3/MCGU stick, MFG Crosswind V2, HP REVERB G2.

For bass shakers in DCS, I believe that your need both SimShaker for Aviators and the SimShaker Sound Module.

I am just getting ready to add bass shakers to my system and have been reading about the required software. Andre's web page explains all the required software modules.

Ya I downloaded the demos for both and adjusting the settings is not doing anything. Not sure where I am going wrong.

SimShaker Wings is not for DCS.

Please refer to this guide https://simshaker.com/guides/cases/

Ok so I need both Simshaker sound module and Aviators then. I downloaded both demos and I am having issues setting things up. The F14 afterburner is really strong if I want it to be but the F18 and F16 I barely feel it at all along with other feedback like stall but then the G feedback in the F18 is really strong. Cant feel gear or flaps but maybe that is because I dont have the paid vversion? voices also cause vibration which I have to figure out.

Are using a separate sound card for the SimShaker Sound Module to direct the special sound effect files to? By using 2 sound cards, normal DCS sounds go to your speaker system that is being fed by your primary sound card. The special effects vibration files are then directed by the SimShaker module to the second sound card. It is also a good idea to have a power amp for the bass shakers that includes a bass frequency filter (crossover frequency adjustment) that you can adjust to cut-off certain frequencies from going to the bass shakers.
