I got it to work in CloD, but only in my second attempt.

Second time I downloaded and installed the FFB driver, and ticked "Alternative mode" it started working in 'fedit' and then in CloD.

However I only got gunfire effects at first.

When I unticked the "Alternative Mode" I suddenly got same effects as Andre in CloD.

But more testing needed.

("Normal" FFB mode puts a "GTX JetSeat" device in Windows and 'fedit'. "Alternative Mode" puts a "Gametrix Chaser" device.)

I have tried all that but no joy. What is fedit and Chaser?

Did you have to change anything else to get it working? What are your other settings and are you using USB?

Why did you download a second time?

Talisman

Well, if you have to ask that question, you have not "tried everything". :)

On the Dreamsimteam page, there are two links to downloads.

The first one is a special FFB driver for your Gametrix seat, that you need to download and install.

I had to do this twice before it worked.

'fedit.exe' is an utility you can download on the same page.

(it is inside a zip-file).

fedit lets you test different FFB effects.

You put an effect, for example "Sine", press the "Run" button and see if the seat starts to shake.

If the seat reacts when you test it, the FFB driver is working as it should.

(and it should be working in CloD as well.)

If not, there's a problem.

(That's where I downloaded and installed the FFB driver the second time.)

About "Chaser":

The seat FFB driver has two operational modes.

Those are the ones that you choose by ticking or unticking the "Alternative Mode" box in the Gametrix Control Panel.

When the box is unticked ("Normal Mode" if you like) Windows sees the seat FFB part as "GTX JetSeat".

When the "Alternative Mode" box is ticked, the Windows sees the FFB part as "Gametrix Chaser", a different kind of device.

I am, in all cases, using USB, not the sound extraction mode.

I have a non-FFB stick.

I have FFB enabled in CloD, but nothing else special.

I hope this made it more clear. :)

Edit:

Seeing that you have a FFB joystick, you need to choose the right device in fedit before you test.

I think it is in the first menu.

Thanks for getting back to me Sporg. My seat works properly as I am able to test it and use it in DCS and it works great! Andre has indicated that CloD may only support one FF device and since I use a FF stick it looks like I will not be able to use the jetseat in CloD :(

I am just glad that at least DCS supports more than one FF device.

I have posted in the CloD forum and asked whether only one FF device can be used.

Thanks again.

Happy landings,

You're very welcome. :)

Actually you did me a favour by asking about all this, it made me test one more time if I could get it to work. ;)

I just want to add, my seat has been working all the time in DCS too, over USB, and also in other supported games (WT etc.).

The FFB driver is an additional "trick" that lets games that don't support the seat inherently, see the seat as a FFB stick instead.

And this driver was not working for me earlier.

I hope you can get yours to work too.

Hi all

I'm up and running with sim tools for motion in DCS with good results

vibration I downloaded dream sim x2 bits of software

X1 part was successful in making my buttkickers run when I pressed the test button

X1 part is the chair pic with U its incorporated in it I don't have on elf these do I need this part of the software????

I keep the dream sim software running and started DCS but zero vibrations,

Do I need to patch my DCS installation with something ???

hi Andre

Thanks for response

Yes I followed those instructions, I have tried both stand alone and steam version of DCS

Nothing shows up in the log screen

(butt kickers work when I press test button)

After closing DCS this error shows :

Oops ..something went wrong with sim shaker input data

With info below it

Any ideas's?

Would you please give me a screenshot of that "Oops ..something went wrong with sim shaker input data"?

here it is, very frustrating but again big thanks for your response & help

That works big thanks

I've donated & emailed details awaiting full activation key

This software & a vibration unit is a must for DCS

Ps that file I assume will alter if I make amends to my motion ....will this break the vibration again?

That's possible.

But in the next update I will change a piece of code in SimShaker to avoid collisions with SimTools code.

Adrian if you don't repatch dcs from the sim tools plugin updater you will have no problems. You can still adjust forces etc without issue.

There should be no need to repatch dcs for now.

Hope your fine, its working rock solid no problems and I have the effects just as I want them on the P-51

Let us know if any further development is coming, maybe a subtle wind force "G" effect might be very effective

Posted
Low frequency effect based on g-forces

Sorry its difficult to explain

Only a suggestion, not sure if possible or easy

hm... I'm not sure we can get good G-feeling with 1-2 vibe zones. At JetSeat we use all 6 zones for G-feeling effect...

Gosh 6 zones wow

I have x4 butt kickers (front L&R. +. Rear L&R channels )

At the moment in DCS I'm using front L&R Chanel

Is there a simple way for me feed certain effects to rear L&&R ??

Ps really happy now I'm just asking questions

As you can see Sound Module supports only two channels.

May be you could try to feed up other two channels with the same signals using a mixer?
