I don't really have the hard numbers but, as far as I know, Tornado and agility aren't quite compatible, not against dedicated fighters anyway. Assuming a neutral merge with nearishly skilled pilots, I would expect F-14 vs Tornado in WVR to be more or less no-contest.

Wishlist: F-4E Block 53 +, MiG-27K, Su-17M3 or M4, AH-1F or W circa 80s or early 90s, J35 Draken, Kfir C7, Mirage III/V

Well, I have never heard of the two tangling in real life. Everything that I've heard is hearsay. That said, the origins of the two platforms would give the advantage to the F-14.

There are plenty of criticisms of both the F-14 (deserved or not) and the Tornado for not being agile enough. With the F-14, most sources report it as very maneuverable with some claiming (mostly USAF trash-talking) that it was a sitting duck at the hands of F-16s. The numbers for STR/ITR paint a favorable picture of the F-14 on the maneuvering front. I don't see any reports of the Tornado being maneuverable compared to other 4th gen fighters.

So the chit-chat favors the F-14A, but I have no data to support it.

The tornado F.# was designed to intercept bombers.

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

This is something i've read as well, but i have never seen any hard numbers or E-M charts. Supposedly the dedicated interceptor version were pretty good at BVR.

I most certainly love their "feel" and look.
