Hi Guys,

I'm planning to update my GT 630 which is kinda weak to play the game to a new GPU, I would like to have your advice on a good GPU with a price range of 200/350 euros.

Info: i have a I7 gpu 3,2ghz, 8ram.

Cheers

It really depends on your budget. I run a GTX 760 oc 2gigs and I can play DCS pretty much maxed out. If you can afford it and since DCS 2.0 is on the horizon, go with a GTX980, even better, GTX 980ti but this one is a bit $$$. Sweat spot would be GTX970, in my humble opinion.

Have a good one.

You might want to check your PSU wattage before purchasing a new card.

Yes, the Gtx970.

480w is ok because the Gtx970 is only 145w. But it must be a cheap brand. What brand is it?

What is your cpu?

OK... GTX970 is in the pot.

But I think with your CPU it'll be idling around - and though you've wasted money. I assume you're currently playing at 1920x1080 and not at "4k" or with multiple monitors?

As far as I have read tests, forum-threads, etc. I'd to go for GTX770. Fits in your price range as well. IMO best bang for the buck. That would be my recommendation for you.

My rig: AMD Phenom II X4@3.9GHz (OC), GTX660TI, 8GB RAM.

FPS: to low - as always ;)

...and that's the reason why a GTX970 will be overkill:

DCS needs high GHz to perform and uses only 2(!) cores.

You'll gain almost no FPS by just putting a 970 in your rig. Better get a descent CPU.

This is partly true for Dcs 1 but with DCS 2 being dx11 the opposite may be true. I went from a 560ti to a 970 and saw a huge improvement with the same dual core CPU. So if you can afford it I say go for the 970.

PC:

6600K @ 4.5 GHz, 12GB RAM, GTX 970, 32" 2K monitor.

Jep... DCS2 will hopefully bring for performance for high-end GPUs.

The question is, will the big €/$-difference between the 770 and 970 worth the money? (read: FPS)

As Wag stated lastly: DCS2 will not[/] use all available cores but more calculations are moved over to the GPU and though perform better. But talking now about performance of DCS2 is in this context like looking into a crystal ball. ;)

Currently I'd still go for the 770. I don't care if I could get stable 'only' 50 instead of 80+ FPS. :)
