aus3620 Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 Excellent! Thanks Chuck (and Wags) for the article. For a WW2 junkie like myself it was a real boost. Should improve the Korea experience as well. How about 2016 for DCS World 2 and 2017 for the Normandy map! That is like tomorrow for DCS! Korea map by ...
JimTM Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 Wonderful demo of the WWII birds Chuck! Thanks to you and Mudspike and thanks to the ED folks for "kicking it up a notch"! Kudos too to Sith for his always accurate release predictions. :smilewink: Jim
RAZBAM_ELMO Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 Anybody else hoping that the smoke trails left by the P-51 in the last bit of the clip while its burning flaming wreckage is plumetting towards the earth isn't what will be finalized upon release? Other than that it looks absolutely stunning and I cant wait to see more as everyone else does! Know and use all the capabilities in your airplane. If you don't, sooner or later, some guy who does use them all will kick your ass. — Dave 'Preacher' Pace, USN.
NeilWillis Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 Now we can see why DCS World 2.0 has taken so long to bring to market - what a huge leap forwards! I have one criticism - the size of the water splashes from the seam level strafing run - does anyone else see them as being far too big?
Art-J Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 ^ Yep, agree with that one. I guess it's like current engine, where ground/water impact effects from shooting anything between 7.62 and 30 mm are the same :D. But, as DCS2 effects are still WIP, I hope to see improvements. I think that strafing run was just done to show stable FPS performance anyway. i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.
NeilWillis Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 Indeed, I am sure there is a lot of tweaking and polishing included in the project, and it will of course continue long after release. It has answered the majority of the critics, and some! Truly awesome work.
Veles Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 the same eggs only in profile ... nonsense. before flying Mustangs over the Caucasus, will now be flying over the Nevada Messerschmidt. delirium.
Charly_Owl Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 I think that strafing run was just done to show stable FPS performance anyway. That was indeed the objective of that shot. Chuck's DCS Tutorial Library Chuck's Guides on Mudspike Chuck's Youtube Channel Chuck's Patreon
