unclejacko Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 So I recently got back into simming and I upgraded my DSC World to the latest version. I have a map I like to train on and fly so I fired it up and noticed an issue. If I do a ramp start, when I go to load the DTS after re-arming, the DSMS window shows red where the weapons should be (like I didn't load them right). If I do a hot start on the map same issue. Same thing if I do an airstart. So I assumed it's because my map wasn't saved with the latest version. I added a couple new A-10C jets to a new airbase and tested it out - same issue. Can't load the weapons on the jet. So I created a new test map and loaded a A-10C in there...and it worked fine. So is there a way for me to update my old map to work? Or do I have to re-create the whole thing. It's a pretty intense training map with lots of ranges, so re-creating it would take quite a bit of time.
Sabre-TLA Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 Have you tried saving your ordnance setting? Load the mission in the ME, select your aircraft and then the ordnance tab. If it is a unique combination of ordnance I believe the ME will prompt you to save it as a new ordnance listing. Make up a name and then save it. Save the mission and then give it a try. Make a copy of your mission before you try this in case it changes your original mission inadvertently. It could be the DSMS is not loading as it doesn't have a reference for your ordnance selections. I've seen this before and this procedure worked for me. Good luck! QuiGon Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 What Sabre-TLA said, but as a side note: You always say "map" but what you mean isn't a map. The word you're looking for is "mission". There is only one map for now which is the "Black Sea" map. The first new map will be the "Nevada Testing and Training Range" coming later this year. You can't create new maps yourself, only new missions on a map. Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!
unclejacko Posted July 27, 2015 Author Posted July 27, 2015 So this morning I loaded up the mission again. I added a A-10C starting on the runway. I went to the ordinance and selected something there. It didn't ask me to save but took my selection. So I figured I'd create something completely new. Just added some pods and rockets. Loaded it up, selected the aircraft on the runway, and looked at DSMS - still shows red around stations weapons should be on. At this point I think I'm going to have to recreate the whole mission with the latest version of the ME. Kinda of sucks.....

The missions are just zip files, so another thing to try is to open the mission file with a zip view and see if has sub directories stored there, such as DSMS, etc. (these can be created when the prepare mission function is used in the Mission Editor when the mission was made. These presets are known to cause a lot of issues, so if they exist delete them. Also try changing the class for the the A-10c aircraft to cap or none and then back to CAS, this has fixed some issues for me in other mission files Regards, Ian Edited July 27, 2015 by MadDog-IC another thought Asus p877v-pro, Intel I7 3770k 4.2ghz, 32gb Ripjaw X ram, Nvidia RTX-2070 Super, Samsung 32" TV, Saitek x52 pro Joystick and Combat rudder pedals, TrackIR 5, Win8.1 x64 with SSD and SSHD protected by (Avast AV).
