You assign a key as normal and then in the cockpit the furthest panel back on the right of the centre console is the countermeasure panel. First using the radial buttons, select how many flares and how much chaff you want dispensed each time you press the CM button (I go for 5 of each). The you need to move the switch on the right of the panel from safe to arm.

Then when you press the assigned key, it will fire flares and chaff.

Hope that helps.

Chaff is implemented now? I missed that and will check when I get home. Unless I'm reading it wrong, the above post is slightly incorrect.

Flares in the Huey are released 2 at a time and has 2 flare cartridges that can hold 30 flares each. The rotating knob and number displayed on the CM panel is how many flares remaining, and you have to set how many flares you have loaded when commencing a mission. Because the Huey releases 2 flares at a time (one from each cartridge) you can only select up to 30 in the window (one cartridge holds 30). So, if you've loaded 60 flares, select 30. If you only have 30 flares loaded, select 15.

More information can be found on page 106 of the current flight manual, located in the docs folder of the Huey install.

Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.

I don't think chaff is implemented. Instead you can get 60 flares, but the counter only goes to 30 on the control panel.

That has nothing to do with missing chaff. It's intended to be like that, because you always drop 2 flares on each button push (one left, one right) so you can drop flares 30 times. That's why the counter only goes up to 30. It wouldn't make sense to let it count down from 60 by decrementing 2 each time. -> 60, 58, 56, ... instead of 30, 29, 28, ....
