shon Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 ... is it possible to change the color of the NVG, for example instead of being green is gray? Thanks.
Wrecking Crew Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 No, not through a user interface option. You can change its intensity. WC Visit the Hollo Pointe DCS World server -- an open server with a variety of COOP & H2H missions including Combined Arms. All released missions are available for free download, modification and public hosting, from my Wrecking Crew Projects site.
Rongor Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 In real life you can't change color nor intensity.

In real life you can't change color nor intensity.Yes, it´s true, but although surely I´m wrong, so green intensity on my monitor makes me think that it should not be good ... If I could change it to gray, for example, I would practice more times night missions without thinking that the green colour is "hurting" my monitor... :)
GeorgeLKMT Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 I would practice more times night missions without thinking that the green colour is "hurting" my monitor... :) What do you mean by hurting? It does absolutely nothing to your monitor. If it's just too bright for you to see things, you can change the intensity as you wish, just set up a keyboard assignment in the settings. And your eye is actually the most sensitive to green anyway :) ■ L-39C/ZA Czech cockpit mod ■ My DCS skins ■

Also I like the photo editing, and I would not like that my monitor lost more quickly its correct colorimetry for this use. Again surely I am wrong, but those are my feelings, so if it were possible to change the color, I´ll try :). Thanks you all guys for your quick answers
GeorgeLKMT Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 (edited) If you're so afraid of your calibration and color accuracy is absolutely crucial for you, you should probably already know that it's recommended to recalibrate your monitor every now and then. :) Professionals working with accurate color space on high end monitors can do it even once a month or so. Somebody who "likes to edit" on cheapo consumer display is OK with calibration once a century really, LCDs are fairly color-stable.... ;) If you're afraid of increased wear of green subpixels, you would need to display 100% green on the whole panel for like 10000 hours straight to measure a difference (and I even doubt that), not play a game that's kinda green for a few hours a week. Don't forget that sky is blue most of the time :) I'm not trying to sound cynical, it's just really not an issue. If you still want to change it, perhaps somebody will help, but like I said, it's green for a very good reason. Edited August 15, 2015 by GeorgeLKMT ■ L-39C/ZA Czech cockpit mod ■ My DCS skins ■

If not possible, the arguments presented to me are quite clear and reassuring, and so I thank you ;) .
Wrecking Crew Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 Try turning down the green saturation using your monitor controls :smartass: JUST KIDDING!
