Qusition About FPS

i have GTX660 With OC settings but all the time i recive only 30 FPS in Flight

i not see any screen isue with the sim but just not recive more then 30 FPS

 

the sim run well with no problem

 

is that ok?

If it runs well, as you say, then it must be okay.

 

It sounds to me like you have the FPS capped somewhere with the video drivers, do you use nVidia inspector?, maybe it is capped there

A guy on here once posted that Vsync will limit your fps to increments of 30. So if it can't keep it at 60fps, it will cut it to 30. 30fps steady is more than enough if you ask me.

I don't run vsync and haven't tested the theory but if true, would explain your situation.

Not entirely correct, vsync will limit the max fps to the refresh rate of your monitor, ie refresh rate 60 Hz will limit the fps to max of 60 fps. There are also settings in the Nvidia drivers where you can set it to half refresh rate, etc. I run a 144 Hz monitor and have it set to half refresh rate, ie 72fps max.

But no , it will not drop from say 60 fps all the way down to 30 fps and nothing in between.

Thanks for the clarification. Like I say, I'm no expert on the subject but I remember reading about it.

With vsync enabled my rig will regularly lock itself at 30FPS for no reason, it's clearly limiting it. With vsync disabled it doesn't happen.
