DAWS Save Mission

Recommended Posts

I have to say that this is strange cause technically mist is not that much used in the package and shouldn't cause issue if loaded after DAWS. I have to check this before next release :). Thanks for the report

The thing is, helicopters are different from planes. An airplane by it's nature wants to fly, and if not interfered with too strongly by unusual events or by a deliberately incompetent pilot, it will fly. A helicopter does not want to fly. It is maintained in the air by a variety of forces in opposition to each other, and if there is any disturbance in this delicate balance the helicopter stops flying; immediately and disastrously.

Hi Chromium,

I have an issue you many be able to cast some light on.

I have the DAWS latest version, when i enable this through JSGME and launch DCS 1.5.5 OB, load a mission in the mission editor, all the previous waypoints and names of units change to Dict_Kkey_xxxx - the xxx being numbers unique for each item.

I disable the mod and can load the mission perfectly well.

with the mod enabled, i am not able to launch a multiplayer mission with any mission loaded either.

Any suggestions?

Many thanks

Can't reproduce the issue. If it's OB related, there won't be a solution for the moment :)

Hi Chromium.

I have done some further testing this evening. A friend of mine wrote the mission in 1.5.5 OB and also has DAWS installed and working in 1.5.5 OB

When I have DAWS enabled in JSGME and try to launch any multiplayer server i cannot no matter what i do press the Start button on the screen you select the mission

If however i disable DAWS in JSGME i can run any mission in Multiplayer.

I am at a loss why this isnt working.

Thanks Mith

I have to say that it's probably caused by another mod installed or permission issues or something else specifically related to your installation. Sadly nothing that I could address from my position :(.

I just updated live to 1.5.5 and removed all mods apart from DAWS and tried in Live, didnt work, wont let me click the start button to launch a multiplayer mission, any help here would be great as I am supposed to be hosting a mission tonight, the start of the perpetual campaign

Anyway please try to remove all the mods, then do a repair and retry with last daws version in 1.5.5 stable. If It's not working this way, it Will for sure be something about your pc & daws.

Something I noticed in the video Spec, You did a repair with the DAWS mod activated. After the repair you took it off then activated it again in one go. Youve essentially changed nothing in the DAWS mod by doing that, but also introduced the possibility that anything the DAWS mod had before the repair was kept and just "captured". What you need to do it deactivate all mods, demonstrate the issue is not present, then download and install a completely fresh "DAWS2" mod, put it in _mods folder, then activate it and launch DCS and demonstrate the problem exists. Your current steps dont show that the DAWS mod was not corrupt initially by a previous upgrade of DCS. Also the black screen around that time for two seconds does introduce a question on wether you are doing something different in that time. I recently introduced an unrelated issue in DCS by not disabling mods before updating, I have a strong suspicion that theres something in your current DAWS mod that is undesirable, I've seen that before and I'll have a sportsmans bet its where your issue is :) happy hunting!

Just tested this myself, works exactly as it's intended. You just need to get rid of that old DAWS mod and whatever is in it. Here's my demo

1. download DAWS mod fromt he first page link .2. Create a new folder in your JSGME mods called something unique. 3. put the contents of the download in it. 4. Open JSGME and deactivate everything. 4. (optional) repair DCS, I skipped this step, if you have it working without mods i would skip it too. 5. Enable the mod. 6. Play.

Hi Mate,

i tried the repair before hand with the mod not enabled and that didn't work either, i must admit in the video i forgot to remove the mod, but as i said that is the second repair i have done with DAWS added and removed. still makes no difference what i do.

Chromium is going to provide a debug version, hopefully that will shed some light on this, Tony is running 1.5.5 with the mod enabled and thats working, i just dont know what the hell is happening here and there is nothing in the logs to point to the cause mate

Cheers Spec

thanks Chromium

on the DCS folder - > Properties - > Security I added my user to have full control and that has done the trick.

Strange one to be honest as its a default install of windows 10.

I am a happy bunny now :)

thanks for the assistance

Hmm, try editing the mixpath.txt to give a valid UNC path rather than the default one. Looks permisison related but I have no real idea why. I can see you have UAC on, I dont have that, other than that your test looks valid. If you copy any files across drives remember the NTFS permissions drop off. Off out now :/
