lazduc Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Purchasing options I am considering: I7-6700k, 16/32gb ram, (2) 980-TI, (2)500gb SSD, Tower case, 1500watt PS, (2) 4tb HD, asus -Z170 Deluxe mb, dvd drive, water cooling for cpu, extra fans, 50 inch 4k monitor. Same as above but (1) Titan instead of the (2) 980-TI). Opinions, would a single Titan work better than a sli setup??? Seems that sli setups are not working correctly in some cases. CTRL/Enter works sometimes. :D Laz
*Rage* Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 I wouldnt bother with a titan at all. Either buy 1 or 2 980ti. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 64th "Scorpions" Aggressor Squadron Discord: 64th Aggressor Squadron TS: 195.201.110.22
Rangi Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Good luck with your GPU purchases, but no need to shout and more than one question mark is above your ration. PC: 6600K @ 4.5 GHz, 12GB RAM, GTX 970, 32" 2K monitor.
SharpeXB Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 (edited) I'm running SLI now in DCSW 1.2 and it seems to work fine. I understand 1.5 and 2.0 will handle it even better. From all the reviews I see the 980Ti performs nearly equal to the Titan X and costs less. If you're going to run a 4K display you'll probably need 2x Titans or 980ti cards if you want Ultra graphics + 60 fps. Depends on what game. I'm running 2x Titan X cards and they get a workout running stuff like Crysis 3 or Far Cry 4 in 3840x2160. Flight sims tend to be limited by the CPU in certain scenarios. That's changing with DCS 1.5 going to DX11. I haven't tried the Beta yet. The best bang /$ is probably the 2x 980ti vs a single Titan X The 980ti tests at within 2fps compared to the Titan X and costs $300 less. I'm running the 2x Titans only because the 980ti hadn't launched yet. Griffon26 Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 Hey, i hope its ok to ask thsi question in this thread but: What would you choose: A 980ti or two 970 strix? I run currently at 1920x1080 wanna have a higher resolution in the future. I would get at first one 970 and than on another date the other. BitMaster Posted October 17, 2015 Posted October 17, 2015 I`d get a 980GTX-Ti watercooled edition and overclock the GPU so it beats an aircooled Titan :) Gigabyte Aorus X570S Master - Ryzen 5900X - Gskill 64GB 3200/CL14@3600/CL14 - Sapphire Nitro+ 7800XT - 4x Samsung 980Pro 1TB - 1x Samsung 870 Evo 1TB - 1x SanDisc 120GB SSD - Heatkiller IV - MoRa3-360LT@9x120mm Noctua F12 - Corsair AXi-1200 - TiR5-Pro - Warthog Hotas - Saitek Combat Pedals - Asus XG27ACG QHD 180Hz - Corsair K70 RGB Pro - Win11 Pro/Linux - Phanteks Evolv-X
