Awesome work guys!

For people who can't afford a shiny TouchScreen-LCD yet: Is it possible to run the software on an ordinary Laptop via network an get the same functions by using the laptop's mouse cursor instead of a touch screen?

I would appreciate the ability to arrange all important commands on big customizable icons and spread them on tabs which makes them accessible with the left hand on my notebook's touchpad.

Could anyone comment on how easy it is to use the Touch buddy toolkit?

Are profiles available for Lomac?

Many thanks to everyone bringing this to light:megalol:

yes, that will work... I test in local mode without a touchscreen, just using my mouse on my second screen, and it works fine. I use my Touchscreen on another PC but can also use the mouse on that to select the buttons.

download TBTk and try. I knocked up an EECH profile last night, and it took me longer to create the image files than it did to load them into TBTk and create the config.

Those aren't extras. One is a power supply, then there's video in/out cables and a USB cable. And a remote that isn't very impressive. ;)

I love my Lilliput and the new beta drivers for it are fantastic.

WOW ! Guys GREAT WORK ! Great idea ! Strange that nobody came up with this earlier !

Ruggbutt - you already gave me good advise for stick and throttle from CH gear. I love the CH stuff now.

I think I also like the "Lilliput 8.4" TFT LCD VGA Touchscreen Monitor & Remote" best. Looks cool and slick. Found it on german EBAY under

I WANT IT !!!

Well that sounds interesting for testing.

Can you give some more technical info?! If I would use a laptop. Do I have to run TB in local mode on the laptop? What has to run on the main PC where I have my LOCKON running? Some server version of TB? So mouse clicks from the laptop will make TB send information to the main (server) PC - over the network? And that works?

Thanks for your help!

Well that's great news. I will give it a try at the weekend.

Thanks to all of you guys!

in a client/server setup, you run two instances of TB

On your game machine, you select "server" mode and start it

On the second machine you select "client", select the profile to use, then start that.

when you click on buttons on screen displayed by the TB client, the info is sent across the network from the TB client to the TB server, and the TB server finds the correct window (if configured to do so), and sends the macros/keypresses. Yes, it really is that simple... no magic involved... :)

Zorlac! Thanks for your quick reply. Sounds easy! I will check that out!

make sure you read the how-to and the README files first, and play with the bundled profiles. All the config files are plain text, so you can read them in your favourite text editor. Once you have scared yourself silly with the config file syntax, go grab TouchBuddy Toolkit, which make sthe profile creation so much easier.

The problem with writing a program and then letting other have it is that I know how it all works, and quite often miss things in the docs about how to make it work.

By the way! My graphic card (ATI Radeon X800 GTO) has got the following connectors:

- VGA output (currently used for my monitor)

- DVI-I output (not used)

- VIVO with S-Video connector (not used)

My question: How do I connect a touchscreen (e.g. Lilliput)?

Do I need some adaptor to use a second VGA connection or can I use the DVI interface?

I first want to run touchbuddy on the gaming PC instead of a separate machine.

Thanks for your help!

all the touchscreens I have seen use a VGA cable, so you should be able to use a DVI to VGA adapter and run TB on the second screen (via the DVI connection)

Heck yes! You are absolutely right! Just checked my graphiccard box and found the DVI - VGA adapter! Connection works fine. Sorry for bothering you!

Anyway thanks!

one thing to watch for is that most gfx cards use the DVI as their primary display if there is a monitor attached. No problem, use the DVI + adapter for your normal screen (the one you play games on), and use the VGA port for the touchscreen... or vice versa... i am sure you can work something out that would work

The toolkit is pretty cool. I've only mucked around in it a bit, but it's way easier than how I put my profile together. Before TBTK you had to do your editing in notepad and such and it was fairly easy to get lost if your profile was large. Wild Bill is doing a great job with it and he works with Zorlac to make sure his new version matches with the new versions Zorlac is releasing.

There are several profiles for LOMAC. Zorlac's profile looks to be geared towards the Su25T driver, and my profile (Rugg) is just Zorlac's with the buttons I made. The 199th profile I made is almost all inclusive for those that like to fly all the planes. There are also wingman and AWACS commands in the 199th profile. The neat thing is that with the ToolKit you can add or remove what you like easily. And TouchBuddy is so versatile that you can do just about anything you like with it. Zorlac is constantly improving it and adding new functions that people are requesting.

I'm thrilled to death that Zorlac created TouchBuddy. I was searching for different controllers to make my simming experience better and TouchBuddy exceeded my expectations.

Cheers......funny how id never even heard about this till a few days ago and now im considering whether to invest in this or rather some decent rudder pedals.

Right now i have a Cougar and i pretty much only fly the su27 so most functions i use are already mapped to the stick and throttle but i guess Touchbuddy makes it much more complete and adds to the immersion.

I imagine this would be even more useful once Black shark is released with more complex avionics.

A good investment Outlaw!

I've had TB for a while now. Recently I was playing Lomac and decided I to fire up F4:AF for a flight (for the first time in a while). Its really tough to remember different keystrokes for like functions between games. With TB though, your TB button for Chaff will fire chaff whether your in Lockon, F4:AF, or any other game with a profile. This same benefit will help reduce the brainsponge time required when learning a new game.

Touchscreens are a commodity and are getting cheaper and cheaper and TB is free.

Awesome! :)

I'd also like to say thanks to these guys for making this freeware - a real gem. If you look at the MS flightsim world, one of the reasons I don't play that anymore is because almost everything of any use is now payware. So it's a pleasure indeed to see something so genuinely functional and well executed released for nothing - kudo's to you guys, and the guys like you who've released such apps.

Dodger, so do you have a F4AF profile? Or are you saying that the keystroks for Lockon are mostly the same, and your using a Lockon profile?

I think he means that the same graphic/image can be used in both games for the same function, but in different profiles and with different macros/keypresses.
