When I open the Nvidia control panel and go to 'Manage 3D settings' and choose 'Select a program to customize' I cannot 'add' the beta installed .exe as a separate .exe in order to tweak it separately from the original program's installated .exe.

Any ideas?

Also, which .exe are you supposed to use for the 'Select a program to customize'...DCS.exe or DCS_updater.exe or DCS_launcher.exe?

Thank you.

In the 3d settings select the current dcs program and click "remove". You should then be able to navigate to the beta install and select dcs.exe.

Yes but wouldn't I then lose all my customization settings for the original DCS.exe?

Just make a new entry for the beta and copy the values.

Tedious... I know...

But some time 1.5 will leave the beta phase an being promoted to the stable dcs.exe.

Then you'll be happy, if you can reuse the currently 'old' entry. :)

Ooops. You can try using Nvidia Inspector to create a new game profile name. You could call it dcs_beta and then link it to the beta dcs.exe. The profile should then show up in the NVidia cpl.

You may have to delete the DCS Black Shark profile 1st in Nvidia inspector.

You can find it here: http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/nvidia-inspector-download.html

I'm not sure this will work because there would still be two profiles linked to "dcs.exe" but I don't see any other options.

The release ( 1.2) is DCS.exe

The Open Beta is DCS_updater.exe

At least on my system, I created my Nvidia profile for the Open Beta referencing the DCS_updater.exe file. There is no DCS.exe file in my Open Beta bin folder.

I had no problem adding it as a new program, leaving the DCS.exe profile intact as well for 1.2. ( DCS Black Shark)

I clicked on new, browsed to my Eagle Dynamics | DCS World Open Beta | bin | DCS_updater.exe file , adjusted my settings and hit apply.

Working fine.

But once the updater runs it calls dcs.exe to start the program. In my beta bin file there is a dcs.exe file.

So in theory your profile gets loaded when you run the updater but then when it calls dcs.exe another profile gets loaded.

Hmm, not in mine. I can confirm I do not have a DCS.exe file in my Open Beta bin folder, and my 3d settings are applied to my profile associated with DCS_updater.exe file in the bin folder.

Not sure why mine would be different and the way it is, but that is how mine is and is working.

Edit: Well looking again, I do see a DCS.exe file in there, has a different icon that I did not recognize, so who knows what mine is doing lol. Using the DCS_Updater.exe association in my Nvidia profile sure seems to be working...

Really though I don't make that many changes to the default settings so I may not be seeing it anyway.
