terminator363 Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 For the longest time DCS has inverted 3rd person camera view. Please fix this! Happy Bug Hunting!
terminator363 Posted November 23, 2015 Author Posted November 23, 2015 The motion is inverted. Which works in 1st person view but not for 3rd person. Happy Bug Hunting!
bolek Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 I guess I am still really confused. Do you mean that the aircraft is still and the terrain moves? I think is intentional, how else would you do it? If you want the terrain still and moving aircraft that is the F3 view. Or do you mean something else entirely? Sorry for being dense...
terminator363 Posted November 23, 2015 Author Posted November 23, 2015 When you pan the camera when the mouse is moved up the camera also moves up (aka inverted). The axis are backwards. 1 Happy Bug Hunting!
Tone71 Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 For the longest time DCS has inverted 3rd person camera view. Please fix this! Sorry bud but that's personal preference, I don't think it needs fixing; maybe an invert external view axes in options? Windows 10 Home, Intel Core i7-9700K @ 4.6GHz, Gigabyte GTX 1070 G1 Gaming (8GB VRAM) on 34" LG curved monitor @ 3440x1440, 32GB RAM, TrackIR 3 (with Vector Expansion), Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS, Saitek Combat Pedals, Thrustmaster Cougar MFDs.
jermin Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 I've never seen any 3D game of 3D software that uses the same external camera movement configuration as the one of DCS. I concur adding an option to reverse the camera movement.
terminator363 Posted November 23, 2015 Author Posted November 23, 2015 Sorry bud but that's personal preference, I don't think it needs fixing; maybe an invert external view axes in options? Bud, no other game has 3rd person axis inverted as they are in DCS. A setting to invert them is nice, but it kind of already exists, the only problem is when you invert the camera axis you invert the camera in 1st person view. Happy Bug Hunting!
terminator363 Posted November 24, 2015 Author Posted November 24, 2015 It makes sense for hat switches but it doesn't make sense for mouse movement. Happy Bug Hunting!
Northstar98 Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 I'd say keep the inverted but allow an option to change it as per specific user preference Modules I own: F-14A/B, F-4E, Mi-24P, AJS 37, AV-8B N/A, F-5E-3, MiG-21bis, F-16CM, F/A-18C, Supercarrier, Mi-8MTV2, UH-1H, Mirage 2000C, FC3, MiG-15bis, Ka-50, A-10C (+ A-10C II), P-47D, P-51D, C-101, Yak-52, WWII Assets, CA, NS430, Hawk. kontiuka Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 Along the same vein, the external zoom has always thrown me although I'm pretty used to it now. That is, to zoom in, you have to mouse scroll down which is opposite to everything else in DCS (cockpit zoom and F10 map zoom use mouse scroll up).
