Hi guys,

I have to say that 1.5 is great all around but I have some great issues regarding DCS 1.5.

My PC struggles to perform under certain circumstances, mainly MP flying, usually when getting hit my a missile, or turning my head, etc, I have this huge lags that prevent me from doing anything.

I have uploaded my settings and my PC specs are as follow:

ASUS P5Q-PRO

E8400 @ 3.00GHz

4 GB DDR2 DC @ 533 MHz (I have 2Gb x 4 (8Gb) Black Dragon PC2 6400 800Mhz but I've never used it, probably I would see a difference.

NVIDIA GF GTX 660 2 Gb

SB X-Fi Audio

TIR4

X52+Pedals

Win 7 64 bits

Do you guys recommend another settings, should I downgrade it?

When I fly around alone I have great FPS unless I fly low and close to trees, there I have HUGE lag and breaks, usually I get blown up by the ground.

Best regards and thank you in advance.

Down grade your settings a great deal in the tree and grass area, set shadows to flat only.

Ok, I'll try that, also I made a mistake, the RAM I have is two 2 Gb sticks of Corsair Dominator @1066 but I have change that now by the 4x2 Gb Black Dragon @800. More RAM less speed. I'll see if there is a gain somewhere.

Thank you.

Maybe you try to cut down on the HDR, Ani Filtering and shadows. Additionally to the 4 GB of RAM the 2GB graphics card might become a show-stopper.

I've changed for the 8 Gb RAM and I saw a huge difference. I only changed the view distance for trees and I don't have anymore lags. Although slower than the Corsair, the 8 Gb turn out to be a great improvement and I had those for an year on my desk.

Also the load times in multilayer have improved dramatically. Change in views or panning around also saw a great improvement.

Minimum-shminimum;) DCS 1.5 is working quite fine on i3 530 with 4GB of RAM and an old GTX 460 with 1GB of RAM. And it's not on minimal settings! First loading takes ages of course but after that it runs quite smooth.

Focha I understand that you have issues when playing with such antiquated hardware but this doesn't qualify as a "bug" and doesn't belong in the bug section.

Current specs: Windows 10 Home 64bit, i5-9600K @ 3.7 Ghz, 32GB DDR4 RAM, 1TB Samsung EVO 860 M.2 SSD, GAINWARD RTX2060 6GB, Oculus Rift S, MS FFB2 Sidewinder + Warthog Throttle Quadrant, Saitek Pro rudder pedals.

I have 6gb at the moment, one if my 4gb dimms failed, and now running 1*4gb + 1*2gb.

It runs, but put preload radius and trees visibility etc on low.

Do recommend to get more than 8gb though

That is interesting. Is the GTX 460 even a DX11 card?

I think it is cause I just tested DCS 1.5 OB on my Asus G73 Notebook which has a 460M-GTX with 3GB VRAM.

It actually gives me 40-50 fps with mostly mid settings and full-hd.... enough as a 2nd seat option and spare rig :)

DCS for sure is good optimized.

My PC is.....

We not that badass either (Athlon X4 860K, 6gb ddr3, HD6570 2gb ddr3) and it runs great!

I can agree fully with this statement. For sure, DCS is full optimised and make great use of the available resources. Good job indeed by the developers.
