Hi guys, just been flying about in P3D, and I was really loving the fact it downloads the real world weather for the location and time you are currently flying.

I believe it uses weather sensors all over the world, including those in the regions we fly in DCS, just thinking how cool it would be, if DCS could also utilise the data from these weather sensors, and provide us with real time weather for our flights.

It would certainly add a whole another dimension to our sim flying.

Fighter pilots make movies, Attack pilots make history, Helicopter pilots make heros.

+1 Great idea! Though I'd also like to see more weather features on top of real world, such as localized weather (weather is different in differing locations), better looking weather, sea states, better precipitation, storms, cloud types etc

I disagree that we need real time weather from external sources to do that.

Having real-time weather doesn't make the sim more immersive if I happen to be playing a mission set in late May 1954 considering it's nearly December 2015 :)

I'd totally agree with you though about having realistic and easy to use simulated dynamic weather system which can be applied to missions, which we do sort of have already.

Agreed. When I am flying, I don't know, or care, what the real weather in Georgia is right then. If the mission brief calls for rain then that is what it is.
