i am still hopeful for a moving map.

sorry BadCrC, im not a real pilot.

Great to have options, If you want to fly like a man, turn off the Moving Map, but i like my technology, especially when 2015 i drive my car by gps / google maps... so i would like to fly with moving map... :D

anyway, the PolyChop Website has a mission statement of "We want to make it real!"

i see in the ploychop website listing the features

Weapons This gazelle simulation features the HOT3 missile and the needed devices to fire it.

Video display The TV displays a moving map and the Viviane sight datas

Video command The Video command allows to use the moving map or to display the Viviane sight datas.

HOT missile console it allows to make the missiles up to fire and is linked to the Video command console.

not asking for glass cockpit, but jeez, would be nice to have some navigation aids! no one is complaining about the ABRIS for the black shark...

You forgot an important item from the list:

"All this is subject to change and will be updated in time."

More seriously, it was stated that the moving map was only on more recent versions of the Gazelle, so unless Polychop plan to add features from more recent versions, chances are we're not going to get a moving map.

I personally wouldn't dislike said moving map, though :D

I would prefer a more useful kneepad over a moving map, but that's up to ED I guess.

It may comes down to variant. I'd rather have a consistent and COMPLETE setup of cold war plane, than mixed era stuff with partially guessed plane from various age

We are already getting a mix set of aircraft. WW 2 and Korean War birds are already in the mix. Time period are up to the mission makers, not the devs. I'm happy that DCSW is a "sandbox" sim and not focused on any particular area. It has a much broader appeal to folks.

I think that if the display is there maybe someone could mod in a moving map. We already have programs like Helios. Adding a "picture in picture" wouldn't be a problem would it?

I would personally prefer they pick a variant and model it. If the model didn't have tv map, I would prefer no tv map. And as someone who goes to DCS World for accuracy, I really don't want an F12 map export on the screen. If the devs are going to implement the map system, I would like it to work as it really does, warts and all.

Further, call me impatient, but I would far prefer we get a release of a the Cold War variant without a tv map soon and maybe get a variant that has it later than have the whole thing delayed.
