gospadin Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 (edited) I've re-textured the rotor blades on the Hip. However, in-game they always show as the default. I don't see an option in the livery definition to use my modified file. The MI-8MT_rotor.EDM in the model viewer knows to use tex3, however, in-game I'm not sure how to get it to work. On the huey, it works automatically. Anyone know the magic livery option? Pic here of my rotors in the model viewer: Pic here in-game: Thx! --gos Edited December 14, 2015 by gospadin My liveries, mods, and missions for DCS:World M-2000C English Cockpit | Extra Beacons Mod | Nav Kneeboard | Community A-4E
GeorgeLKMT Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Custom texture entry for moving rotors (shared by both rotors): {"rotors_opacity", 0 ,"mi_8_rotors_opa",false}; (original texture is located in Bazar\World\textures\MI-8MT.zip) Custom texture entry for still rotors: {"mi-8_tex_3", 0 ,"mi_8_tex_3",false}; ■ L-39C/ZA Czech cockpit mod ■ My DCS skins ■

gospadin Posted December 14, 2015 Author Posted December 14, 2015 I went a little overboard. =P Pics seem to indicate dark-gray blades with yellow tips on their EC145, and no black/white striping as I did there. Their Bell has red/white blades, but not their EC145. My liveries, mods, and missions for DCS:World M-2000C English Cockpit | Extra Beacons Mod | Nav Kneeboard | Community A-4E
gospadin Posted December 15, 2015 Author Posted December 15, 2015 (edited) Okay, first attempt at changing the moving rotor texture: First, in photoshop: Then, in-game: I think I need to increase the alpha channel a bit throughout the rotor, especially middle of the blades, because they're almost transparent. Also, the yellow is impossible to see, yet in a lot of videos you can see bright yellow rotor tips relatively easily. Will keep working on it, thanks! Btw, the above was done by: Copy the "top" surface of the blade from tex_3 (the "bottom" surface of the blade is above the "top" surface of the blade, in tex_3) Paste as new layer over the top of the existing rotor, transformed to 1024 pixels wide (rotor is 1024x512) trim excess that was copied using magic wand contiguous setting Select in from left edge of texture about ~40 pixels through rest of texture area apply radial blur filter, left edge centered, amount: 20, "best" quality merge layer down into base texture save and update description.lua as above Edited December 15, 2015 by gospadin My liveries, mods, and missions for DCS:World M-2000C English Cockpit | Extra Beacons Mod | Nav Kneeboard | Community A-4E
