Hello guys , I know that there are multiple post related with helios , however I just want to expose my case to make sure first if the Loz Sm 2.1 version is compatible with windows 10, second if the path to DCS should be to 1.2 ( I have it installed but not using) or should point to DCS world beta 1.5...???

The thing is that I can create my profile to be use on my second 23 inches =right located of the main monitor and the panel (CDU only) is showing well on the editor second monitor but when I run the control panel to display the CDU doesn't show anywhere, however the control panel shows "profile running".....

I do have First monitor Asus 4K 28 inches and second asus 23 (no touch screen) on the right side of the first..they are both connected to my 980 Nvidia ....

any help will be appreciated..

thanks

Peter

thanks

Hi airdog, yes it works with W10... for now i am only interested to make the CDU work in my second monitor, I finally have the CDU panel working and the switches working, I just need to be able to display the data/information of the CDU . I know I will have to touch the monitor set up lua but so far the ones I have access to go over the Mfds which I am not interested at the moment. I will like an example only for the CDU second monitor....and how can I get the position of where the second monitor helios cdu is located so I can modify the monitor lua....I guess!!!. ( i am running a first monitor 4K and second at 1920/1080)

Thanks

Peter

Guys, I am noob and I am jealous

I learned to change monitor lua to show MFCDs, RWR etc on my second screen.

Now I want to see engine gauges + ADI etc. and I was told to use Helios.

So OK, I now get it.

And I create a simple profile with ADI only (for testing).

I do set Input

Bank changed => set bank

and

Pitch changed=> set pitch

Now I launch Helios control center, load this profile and run it. ADI shows.

Now I do launch the DCS and ... the Helios ADI doesn't move...

Do I need to create/add some files to enable connection between the DCS and Helios?

Do I miss something?

Also, I did browse the profiles that I can download for A-10C from http://www.gadrocsworkshop.com/downloads

And I didn't find any profile for Helios on 22" 1680x1050.

May be someone already has a profile for such monitor with pair of Thrustmaster's Coguar MFDs?

I know that there were instructions for getting Helios to run on a touchscreen running Win7. I believe that some of these instructions were changed for Win10. Before I update to Win10, would someone that has Helios running in Win10 provide instructions on how it is done.

Touch Screen Setup

Submitted by Gadroc on Thu, 04/26/2012 - 18:38

Windows 7 has great built in support for touch screens, but not all of the default options work well with Helios. It is highly recommended that you follow these instructions to property setup your touch screens for Helios.

Note: Not all monitors are recognized as touch screens by Windows. If your touch screens do not respond to these settings, but still work to move your mouse around you need to follow the manufacturer’s directions for setting up and calibrating your touch screen.. In particular TouchKit based controls do not require these steps.

Associate Touch Screen with Monitor

Windows needs to understand which monitor is your touch screen. If your mouse moves on another screen when you click on your touch screen you need to execute this step.

  • From the start menu select “Control Panel” then open the “Tablet PC Settings” control panel.
  • Click on the Setup button and follow the instructions on screen. Take special note to press enter without tapping your touchscreen when the message is displayed on normal monitors.

Disable Input Panel Tab

Windows 7 has features to help you use your touch screen as a primary input device. Unfortunately these can get in the way and cause problems when using Helios to play a game. We can disable this input panel tab to prevent it from showing up when we don’t want it.

  • While you have the “Table PC Settings” window open, click on the tab labeled “Other” and then click on “Go to Input Panel Settings”.
  • Now uncheck the “Use the Input Panel tab” option and click the Ok button.

Disable Auto Right Click

By default Windows right clicks when you touch and hold on a touch screen. This is great for interacting with Windows explorer or other regular applications, but causes problems when you are trying to hold down a lamp test or MFD button. Luckily we can change this behavior as well.

  • From the start menu select “Control Panel” then open the “Pen and Touch” control panel.
  • On the Pen Options tab click on the Press and Hold pen action and then click on the “Settings” button.
  • Uncheck “Enable press and hold for right-clicking” then click the OK button.
  • Switch to the Flicks tab and uncheck the “Use flicks to perform common actions quickly and easily”. You can also uncheck “Display flicks icon in the notification area” if you want.
  • Next, switch to the Touch tab.
  • Click on the Press and hold touch action and then click on the “Settings” button.
  • Uncheck “Enable press and hold for right-clicking” and then click the OK button.
  • Now close the Pen and Touch control panel by clicking the OK button.

I've attached my Helios profile along with my monitor.lua. Hopefully this will get you started. make sure you have Loz's helios profile installed as I think all my Helios textures are from his file.

Guys, hi again.

I have some progress in my setup.

I used Loz SM V2.1 profile for Helios, and it works.

I do see all gauges move, all knobs are working.

I did successfully modified lua file to show MFCDs inside my Thrustmaster MFDs.

Now what is left for me? I need to modify lua even more to cause clock, RWR, CMS etc. to display actual values inside transparent windows of the Helios cockpit.

And the problem here is that my second monitor has 1680x1050 resolution, which is different from the resolution of the Helios monitor in Los SM v2.1 profile.

So I did scaled down the profile... but now the lua files that I am able to find for it are not good for me.

So, may be some one here has lua file modified for exactly this resolution and Helios profile?

I just ran into an issue while trying a new touch screen. I've been using some 8" USB Lilliput, running with the Display Link and eGalax Touch drivers. I picked up an Asus VT207N hoping to get away from the USB displays and Display Link driver only to run into a new issue. No option to stop the mouse pointer from moving. The win 10 CP "Pen and Touch" only has a touch option, the "Press and Hold" is unchecked. The Lilliput screens running with eGalax have are set to mouse mode normal, and work just fine. Push a function on the display the key is generated and the mouse doesn't move. On the Asus display, the key is generated and the mouse moves to the screen.

No luck doing searches in regards to this issue, any suggestions, what displays work with win 10? Maybe I'm missing something else? I'm running Helios as Admin.
