OxideMako Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 (edited) Radar antenna vertical deflection. INOP for beta. Slightly updated picture: Also, anyone know what the ENT in the top right is? Edited December 19, 2015 by OxideMako
Muppetlord Posted December 19, 2015 Author Posted December 19, 2015 Good job!!! I'll edit the first post with it :)
jojo Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 No, it's AoA. Mirage fanatic ! I7-7700K/ MSI RTX3080/ RAM 64 Go/ SSD / TM Hornet stick-Virpil WarBRD + Virpil CM3 Throttle + MFG Crosswind + Reverb G2. Flickr gallery: https://www.flickr.com/gp/71068385@N02/728Hbi
Zeus67 Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 ENT indicates radar pulse frequency. There are three types: High PRF, Low PRF and Interleaved PRF (a mix of high and low). ENT = Interleaved. Radar pulse frequency management is not available in the beta version. 1 "Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better idiot-proof programs, and the Universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. Arden Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 Where is the target range indicator on there?
Azrayen Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 And for what it's worth: ENT is short for Entrelacé (= French for Interleaved) We should also get (after beta I guess): HFR for Haute FRéquence (High Frequency) BFR for Basse FRéquence (Low Frequency)
Zeus67 Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 Where is the target range indicator on there? For a locked target? In the HUD. Arden Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 For a locked target? In the HUD. You don't happen to have a screenshot of that too do you?
Aginor Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 (edited) I like this thread, it makes waiting easier. We can learn something while waiting. Almost a chapter of the manual. :) Edited December 19, 2015 by Aginor DCSW weapons cheat sheet speed cheat sheet
Zeus67 Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 You don't happen to have a screenshot of that too do you? No, but I'll make one later. Anyway, it is not hard to determine target range in the radar screen. You have the radar range displayed there and since the top is the selected max range and the bottom is your aircraft, you can deduce range by symbol vertical position. Also, those lines in the PPI screen are range markers. They indicate 75%, 50%, 25% range. In your image, for a 20 nmiles range that would mean; 15, 10 and 5 nmiles. The H symbols around the 15 nmiles marker so it should be at 14 nmiles out. 1 "Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better idiot-proof programs, and the Universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. jojo Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 Does RDI handle MFR like RDY does ? Good question :music_whistling: But I always read that RDI is mainly HFR radar. RDY entered service 10 years later ! And what about missile's seeker (SARH) ? Mirage fanatic ! Azrayen Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 You shouldn't be able to shoot a 530 in anything else than HFR (IIRC).
Zeus67 Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 You shouldn't be able to shoot a 530 in anything else than HFR (IIRC). You cannot lock targets except in ENT or HFR. But as I said, Radar PRF profiles are not enabled in beta. Muppetlord Posted December 19, 2015 Author Posted December 19, 2015 So...there's nothing telling the distance of the target is there?
jojo Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 Eventually it will... Mirage fanatic ! I7-7700K/ MSI RTX3080/ RAM 64 Go/ SSD / TM Hornet stick-Virpil WarBRD + Virpil CM3 Throttle + MFG Crosswind + Reverb G2. Flickr gallery: https://www.flickr.com/gp/71068385@N02/728Hbi
Muppetlord Posted December 19, 2015 Author Posted December 19, 2015 Eventually it will... What do you mean? Isn't it a radar function?
PiedDroit Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 What do you mean? Isn't it a radar function? It's a beta, not all features are available. 1
Muppetlord Posted December 19, 2015 Author Posted December 19, 2015 It's a beta, not all features are available. I know...But I just thought that it wouldn't be a very hard thing to put in compared to some other stuff going on with the radar. But I've no clue. :noexpression:
Zeus67 Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 So...there's nothing telling the distance of the target is there? I'm not sure if the H symbol has a range data line. Maybe it's not even provided (?), the radar range is displayed on top of the display so it should be easy to get a good range estimate I think.
