blackturbo Posted January 3, 2016 Author Posted January 3, 2016 ok heres my dxdiag file, hope you can help me, i dont want to start all over again with this machine.DxDiag.txt
_Teddy_ Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 I'm not sure if my problem is the same, but it is very similar: I updated working (!) DCS from 1.2.x to 1.5.x, and now it does not run. All I see is "app has crashed" with these details: Problem signature: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: DCS.exe Application Version: 1.5.2.48726 Application Timestamp: 567c2fef Fault Module Name: dx11backend.dll Fault Module Version: 1.5.2.48726 Fault Module Timestamp: 56698831 Exception Code: c0000005 Exception Offset: 0000000000048559 OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.1 Locale ID: 1033 Additional Information 1: d1a4 Additional Information 2: d1a44fed266b267a7c5dbda86a19be2f Additional Information 3: 6f8f Additional Information 4: 6f8fefd337de28b422d7f4864f5a682b Read our privacy statement online: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=104288&clcid=0x0409 If the online privacy statement is not available, please read our privacy statement offline: C:\Windows\system32\en-US\erofflps.txt I thought I might have screwed something up during update so I uninstalled DCS completely and installed again, downloading and running DCS_World_Web_Installer.exe. The same result... I know problems like this can happen, but it really does not look well if app which used to be running suddenly crashes after (non-beta!) update. BTW before you ask, all drivers & OS (win7/64b) are updated, with all current patches installed...
blackturbo Posted January 3, 2016 Author Posted January 3, 2016 welcome to the thread iam waiting to hear from the master himself :)
Mustang Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 blackturbo, you might want to give this a shot since you're using an AMD graphics card http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2555868&postcount=25 simply download the attachment in that post and extract the two .dll files to the bin folder of DCS World.
blackturbo Posted January 3, 2016 Author Posted January 3, 2016 (edited) OMG dude, your a genius :) it worked! my dcs no longer locks up when trying to run a module, ive only got one module installed as of now but it should be fixed. Now if you can tell me, prior to this mess, i backed up all my config files to my controllers. where are they located and where do they go? , hopefully they will still work, as i saved them when still on 1.2 . Edited January 3, 2016 by blackturbo
Mustang Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 Inputs are located at C:\Users\<username>\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input folders.
blackturbo Posted January 6, 2016 Author Posted January 6, 2016 (edited) yes i copied them over, but they dont work :( , i copied over the whole folder like you said from my 1.2 install Edited January 6, 2016 by blackturbo
ehagendorff Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 You probably already know/checked this, but you would have to go into the controls menu in game, and select the joystick column, then hit load profile, and browse to the Input folders n apply the profiles 'in game'. Then do the same for the throttle quadrant, rudders or any other peripherals you have. Just copying the folder won't bind the controls in game basically. Sorry if that was obvious/you've looked at that already, but didn't see it mentioned and figured I'd try and help out. The control bindings should still work fine..no reason those backup files wouldn't be able to be used/applied. Hope you get it working!
