Skulleader Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Hello, The radio navigation for the L-39 is good but is it not possible to have more RSBN channels with all airfields of DCS ? Because just 4 RSBN it's not perfect for the L-39 navigation... Tarres Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Well, it´s the reality. Not all airfields have VOR/DME, TACAN and ILS in the west for example. You can use the manual mode of the RSBN. I can fly in the NTTR without RSBN and with only one NDB for example. You only have to study the map and take a few notes regarding Bearing and Distance.

This is essentially what Leatherneck did with the MiG-21 (implement a custom list of RSBN stations) My liveries, mods, and missions for DCS:World M-2000C English Cockpit | Extra Beacons Mod | Nav Kneeboard | Community A-4E

Thanks for this tips but as you write it's realistic. Thanks again, Skull. some1 Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 RSBN was a mobile system and it could have been redeployed to another airfield if needed. So the original request is quite realistic. Hardware: VPForce Rhino, FSSB R3 Ultra, Virpil WarBRD, Hotas Warthog, Winwing F15EX, Slaw Rudder, GVL224 Trio Throttle, Thrustmaster MFDs, Saitek Trim wheel, Trackir 5, Quest Pro
Tarres Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 Yes, the best solution would be make a "RSBN Station", a "TACAN Station" (that is a mobile system too) and a "PRMG Station" like an objects in the ME with associated frequencies. But you don't need a map full of radio beacons to achieve a satisfactory navigation in an airframe of the 60's and 70's. So in the interim I prefer the solution that we 've got nowadays. Regards.
112th_Rossi Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 I just want a calculator so I can covert nM to Km when I workout my direction and distance in L39.
gospadin Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 They're "roughly" 2:1 (actually 1.852:1) which is good enough to get you within visual range of an airport. My liveries, mods, and missions for DCS:World M-2000C English Cockpit | Extra Beacons Mod | Nav Kneeboard | Community A-4E
vJaBoG32 Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 (edited) When taking about realisem, the modern L-39 have GPS anyway. Edited January 18, 2017 by vJaBoG32 With kind regards, Staff of Virtual JaBoG32 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
