TBH, this mod is a waste of time.

The official F5E is en route, and all this will do is cause confusion.

Love you Skate, but really, it is in the mods and apps directory; if there was any confusion made, it would be pretty hard to fall for. Let me bring up the Wings of Russia F-14A, are you saying that it is a waste of time too? Not to mention their F/A-18? I'd like to hear a more elaborate way of your point of view, as what you typed was rather confusing to me.

I get your point of view, but as would be obvious, different people have different opinions. "A waste of time" it may be, but to say it in such a blunt way coming from such a highly respected member of the community may really lower the OP's spirits. It's fun to create a simple mod. No, really, it is. :P That's why I believe it is best to let the OP finish his/her work in peace. Yes, it may be considered to be "blinding the OP from a reality check," but what would be the real harm of it?

It's also good for the consumer base, as they have something to feed on as an appetizer before they get their meal. (The F-5E mod and the official F-5E, for instance.) In another way of helping the community, a consumer may not have enough money at the time of release, so they quench their "thirst" for the official module with the free mod. It's just plain fun to fly mods, anyways. You get a Standard Flight Model designed for that aircraft, AFAIK. It'll likely keep some of them from complaining less about any release nonsense, as long as it's a good mod. As it is, however, the coding present in the game is not necessarily bug-free on modders ATM, nor are those bugs easy to fix.

TL;DR: Let the OP finish/feel successful with their work, don't discourage them. No matter how big a modder's project is, it's best for them to know that they couldn't finish but were able to be proud of how far they got in their project, instead of giving up when they only started.

If you want to talk to anyone about anything personal, send it to their PM box. Interpersonal drama and ad hominem rebuttal are things that do not belong on a thread viewed by the public.

One thing i have to point out... naming a thread.. "OK, so" is as useful as tits on a bull.
