LeCuvier Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 I had set up Target profiles (in advanced GUI mode) for several of my modules. Target (in Run mode) crashed sometimes when I launched DCS, but I could generally use it. Now I also use the TrackIR as well; and I cannot manage to start Target Run mode, TrackIR 5 and DCS 1.5.2 without Target crashing. If anyone uses this combination successfully I'd appreciate any guidance that helps me to make this work! Swaty Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 I have no problem. Is this happening with any TARGET profile? Did you try to run another one? If not, you should check it. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] My Pit
LeCuvier Posted February 3, 2016 Author Posted February 3, 2016 I have no problem. Is this happening with any TARGET profile? Did you try to run another one? If not, you should check it. I tried it today with several profiles and it didn't crash. You see how bad it is: you cannot even rely on it's crashing. As I said I've used it earlier with mixed success and recently it crashed all the time when I started DCS (before any mission start). Today it doesn't crash at all. Today I started in this sequence: 1. TracKIR in Admin mode 2. Target, set to Run 3. DCS in Admin mode What's your sequence? Swaty Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 1 or 2 and then 3. Also, I am working on a profile and I do a lot of ALT+TAB the game and STOP and RUN TARGET Script Editor without crashes. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] My Pit
LeCuvier Posted February 4, 2016 Author Posted February 4, 2016 Target crashing again Today it's crashing again. No way to run TrackIR, Target and DCS World concurrently! LeCuvier Posted February 7, 2016 Author Posted February 7, 2016 No more "Run as administrator?" I used to start DCS World with the "Run as administrator" Option. It used to be necessary, maybe a long time ago, and I never heard that it was no longer necessary. A friend told me that he never runs as administrator and so I tried this twice. And oh wonder, Target does not crash. Not jumping to any conclusions yet, but will continue to start DCS with a simple double-click on the desktop icon. slicker55 Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 (edited) I recently started getting the 'TargetGUI' pop-up message when the module's progress bar is about 80% loaded (just after 'Loading Land Textures' appears) Tests confirmed this issue isn't specific to a particular version of DCS or module. Some posts suggest changing the keyboard to US English but this didn't work for me. I have 'Run as Administrator' set in the program 'properties' section - tried un/checking this - still no joy. In the end I saved my custom profiles, uninstalled the program, unplugged the throttle and stick and installed the latest version of the program. I was previously using an older version of this software (don't know whether this is relevant) but installing the latest version appears to have fixed the issue for me. Just a tip... before proceeding, back-up all your custom profiles! FeistyLemur Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 If it continues to be a problem, autohotkey is a great replacement.
