I have two problems relating to campaign development:

How do I ensure the next stage triggers after terminating a mission? Does it only require an offline score higher than 50?

And how do I allow for missions to be failed and replayed any number of times without failing the campaign, like the default FC3 missions? By default even terminating a mission while it's inconclusive will immediately fail a campaign.

Its all determined by the offline score. Greater than 50 it moves to the next stage, less than 50 it goes back, and a score of exactly 50 remains on the stage. So if you set score to 50 via time more than 1 condition you can always replay that mission. Once you add more to the score and exit the mission will be deemed a success and move to the next stage.

Is mission scoring currently even working in campaigns?

I have a mission with a mission goal assigned (51 offline score after 1 second). Running the mission individually through the ME, the mission scores correctly to 51. Running the same mission inside a campaign, it scores 0.

Edit: Upping the Time More to 2 made the mission goal fire in campaigns sometimes, but still not every time. Also even for the instances that the mission was scored (as apparent during the debriefing), the score window during the mission still shows 0. This whole thing seems to be rather buggy.

Should report as a bug, as I can confirm also, whilst testing the Ka-50 deployment campaign files singularly with ME, some of the missions had exactly this issue, but was rather random in nature.

I am new at this and right now just do simple training runs so I get used to the weapons and systems on the planes. Also to provide a way to control the engagements and allow me to learn what to look for.

My question is this.

I have a simple A-10A mission that I add to at the end of the mission via the editor, but, is there a way to save my previous situation and start from there and continuing the mission.

I thought of this after finishing the last run, not really happy with the results but still managed to do some of the goals I wanted. Now I repaired and rearmed and changed the load out and thought it would be great to save it here so the next time I can continue with my new load but still have the rest of the targets left.

Is this possible?

Sorry, I'm not here for answers, but rather more questions.

Does anyone know Exactly how the Campaign builder works?

I get the fact that you can create stages in the campaign. And that you stay in the stage if you score 50 in the mission, regress a stage if you score less, and advance a stage if you score more.

But what does the number range on the missions do then? You have to keep it from 0 to 100, so that at least one mission in each stage points to every number in between... but... what do they do?

I get that if the range is the same for multiple missions in a stage the campaign should randomly select which one you play. But how do I advance the missions in a single stage? Are those numbers representing the play order? I tested by giving mission 1 a range of 0 to 1, and mission 2 the range from 1 to 100. I started the campaign and it loaded mission 2. So does it start with a mission with the range that includes number 50?

If so, does that mean, that if I have 3 stages and my starting stage is stage number 2. And I have 2 missions in stages 1 and 3, with ranges 0-50 and 50-100... If I finish a mission on stage 2 with less than 50 points, does that mean it takes me to the mission in stage 1, that has the range 0-50? And if I finish a mission in stage 2 with more than 50 points, does it take me to stage 3 and give me the mission with the range 50-100?

Anyone have a clue?

I'm trying to test this shortly, but if someone has deeper knowledge on this, please share.

Regards.

Stages ARE the progression. So if you have a purely linear campaign then stage 1 is mission 1, stage 2 is mission 2, and so on. The stages allow you to have slightly branching paths or allow for some mission randomization to occur.

The numbers assigned to each mission correspond to the outcome of the score from the previous mission. So lets say I have stage 2 setup with two missions, A is 0-49, and B is 50-100. When I finish the stage 1 mission with a score of 51 or higher it will take me to stage 2 and select mission B. If I fail stage 3 with a score of 49 or lower it will take me back to stage 2 and play mission A.

When you have multiple missions that have the previous mission score within their range the choice of mission to play is random. For instance the A-10C Georgian Hammer campaign typically has 2-3 missions per stage ranging from 0-100. Each time you play the stage the mission selection will be randomly chosen between those missions.

Thank you for the answer, that was very helpful. The DCS world manual seemed a bit ambiguous on that part.

One additional question to clarify:

If stage two has, say, 3 missions with ranges (A) 0-49, (B) 50-50 and © 51-100. I advance to this from stage 1. The first mission to play from stage 2 after the advancement would be C. Now if I complete level C with the score of 50, does that give me level B next? I'm assuming so, as the manual said that score 50 keeps you on the same stage (not the same level necessarily).

Cheers.

EDIT: I actually tested this just a minute ago with a quick mission setup, and turns out it behaves exactly as I thought. Interesting.

On a side note, I assume campaigns can't be built for multiplayer without external scriptin..? I'd be interested in creating co-op campaigns.
