game download & installed successfully , but the problem is that the most main menu options is disabled "appears in gray color and i cant click it" the only options is working is: logbook, encyclopedia & exit

Have you installed the DCS 2.0 without the nevada map?

The game only comes with 2 free Aircraft/modules.

The TF51 Mustang, a training unarmed version of the Famous P51 Mustang and the SU25T Frogfoot.

You can use them for training and a few missions.

All the other aircraft/modules need to be purchased via either the Eagle Dynamics website or through the module manager in DCS.

idk , i downloaded the game from the game web site (DCS_World_Web_Installer & DCS_World_2_OpenAlpha)

and the setup ran automatically .

If it was 2.0 (Alpha release version), then you have to purchase the NTTR map. If you don't want to splash out, then delete it, and download 1.5.2, which has the free Caucasus theatre, and the 2 free modules will work fine there.

I would suggest doing the SU25 training missions as they give you some good knowledge, then do the available missions.

This will give you an idea as to whether DCS is the right thing for you etc, before you go blowing $40 and $50 on modules etc only to find out you just arent that into DCS.

Yes, I am afraid so. The alternative is to wait until the 2.0 version has the Caucasus map integrated, but we don't currently know when that will happen. It might be tomorrow when there is an upgrade coming along, but it may equally be some time away yet.

 

When you download the 1.5.2 version, you can expect a lot of the content of 2.0 to be the same, so it may well use the existing files and so make the download smaller. Only delete 2.0 afterwards, or simply retain it ready for when you can run the Caucasus map with it.

The release will be updated anyway, so if you're new I suggest not to bother with the alpha or betas as you may not want to cope with the development versions.

You can still download the open beta (1.5.x).

You can keep the open alpha on your disk (2.0) as it may be used to download less stuff (the updater will pick files in your open alpha directory instead of downloading, if it can)

Nevada is payware and the 2.0 alpha will work only if you have it.

1.5 has Caucasus for free, plus 2 aircraft (all of this is already explained in this thread).

Yes. In the 2.0 alpha, the only map is the payware Nevada. 1.5 essentially has the same amount of features as 2.0, but the map tech for the Black Sea/Caucasus areas dates from around 10-15 years ago. If you can't buy anything, throw away 2.0 off your HDD/SDD as you won't be using it anyways. Hope it helps. :thumbup:
