Frisco1522 Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 It would be nice if the KC-135 could have a setting to take off with a basket attached to the boom instead of the normal (insert proper name here) so that it could refuel aircraft like the M-2000C. It would work great if it was an option like the UH-1 IR Suppressor check. This... ...to this! Anyone else feeling me here?? Frisco1522
Destroyer37 Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 That sounds like a really good solution to what is about to be a very big issue with the sheer volume of Naval aircraft coming into the scene. +1 for this! mvsgas Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 (edited) Or the KC-135 just needs the wing pods or a KC-10 Edited February 5, 2016 by mvsgas To whom it may concern, I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that. Thank you for you patience. Many people don't want the truth, they want constant reassurance that whatever misconception/fallacies they believe in are true..
KLR Rico Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 (edited) ^ I've been saying we need the MPRS pods on the 135. Now with a flyable probe jet, and the upcoming F-14 and F-18, it's almost mandatory. ...a basket attached to the boom instead of the normal (insert proper name here)... For gee whiz; the normal part is a nozzle, the basket is called a drogue, and the MPRS pods have a paradrouge. Dun_Aenghus Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Yep, this is badly needed, hope to see it at some stage in the future. The S3 is the only aircraft that can do this in-game so far and it's out of service in real life. Would be nice to have a USAF or French Air Force KC-135 with a drogue. The latter would add some more realism to upcoming Mirage missions/campaigns. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

104th_Maverick Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 The MPRS has already been submitted to the devs as a feature request ... let's keep our fingers crossed it can be added :D [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 104th Phoenix Wing Commander / Total Poser / Elitist / Hero / Chad www.104thPhoenix.com www.facebook.com/104thPhoenix My YouTube Channel
Grimes Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Shouldn't it also be possible to refuel an M-2000C behind an IL-78? Last I checked the probe and drogue works for any aircraft regardless of country of origin. So at the moment the IL-76M can handle tanking needs for every aircraft that uses that method. The S-3B is the only other aircraft capable of refueling via drogue, but its not exactly meant to fill the tanks up. Its more of a splash and dash so you don't splash into the ocean before a carrier landing. The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. Dun_Aenghus Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Shouldn't it also be possible to refuel an M-2000C behind an IL-78? Right you are! Forgot it was there to be honest  [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Jateu Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 I remember when I was about 16 seeing 6 135r's with the refuel hose on the probe tip. Was around the time the b52's were bombing Bosnia.
