SFJackBauer Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 Yes, with doppler filtering. Even then when you tighten the notch down, you trade a smaller notch for noise - you WILL have false contacts. LPRF should deal with clutter rejection better, but clutter is clutter and LPRF neither immune to it nor is there a reason to believe that this mode doesn't use a doppler filter :) I suppose you could turn the doppler filter off and use it only in look-up mode, where clutter wouldn't be an issue. Apparently that's what Thales/the French does in their radars?
Zeus67 Posted April 12, 2016 Author Posted April 12, 2016 The CTD due to jammer activity (it was not exactly that why it crashed) has been officially fixed. Both single and multiplayer tested. The following symbology has been added: - When the radar is using LPRF (BFR) the contacts will be displayed as a square instead of the V - If any kind of jamming is detected the legend BR (BRouiller = Jammer) will appear next to the PRF setting. "Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better idiot-proof programs, and the Universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the Universe is winning." "The three most dangerous things in the world are a programmer with a soldering iron, a hardware type with a program patch and a user with an idea."

TomCatMucDe Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 as a friend of the enemy is identified now ?? you mean IFF? yes it does work.

Yes, it should be showed by default to match other A/C behaviour. While retaining the ability to hide it with the shortcut please :)
TomCatMucDe Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 Yes, it should be showed by default to match other A/C behaviour. While retaining the ability to hide it with the shortcut please :) exactly. For those who dont want to see it at all, they just should change the default lua file. Same as the other modules.
flecha78 Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 I mean the symbol , which corresponds to friend, foe ?
nomdeplume Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 I mean the symbol , which corresponds to friend, foe ? Friendlies are indicated by a diamond symbol on the contact in the radar display. Enemies do not respond to IFF interrogations and do not have any symbol. In the game world, everything is either friendly or enemy, so lack of a symbol effectively indicates an enemy. Real life is a bit more nuanced. To enable IFF, you need to move the IFF selector dial to SECT or CONT mode. This is on the right hand side horizontal panel. The IFF section has a four-digit code number (set to 0000 by default) - the selector dial thing is to its right. (The code set does not matter.) Then there's a button on the HOTAS you can use to interrogate for IFF, and it'll show diamond symbols on friendly contacts for 30 seconds.
Eihort Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 Will a forgetful a friendly MiG-21bis driver will still show up as enemy if they don't turn on their IFF transponder? Pretty sure they're show as enemy to everyone.
mattebubben Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 (edited) Will a forgetful a friendly MiG-21bis driver will still show up as enemy if they don't turn on their IFF transponder? Pretty sure they're show as enemy to everyone. Dont think so. the IFF system ingame does not check Transponders. It simply looks to see what Coalition (/Team) the aircraft is in. So is it your team it will always show as friend no matter if it has the transponder on or off. And a enemy will always show as enemy. The only Danger is if a Mig-21 or Mirage 2000 pilot did not turn on the IFF interrogator since that means no matter how much they try to iff any targets still show as hostile. But the IFF does not care about transponders as it is right now. Edited April 14, 2016 by mattebubben
SixthFall Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Ohhh man, these RDI changes are sweet, can't wait for the update, only another week right? -16AGR-Bear
mattebubben Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Ohhh man, these RDI changes are sweet, can't wait for the update, only another week right? Hard to know. If everything has a already been completed and sent to ED maby. But with the Earthquake in Ecuador (where Razbam is located though they have some team members that are located in other parts of the world) So Schedules might be delayed for obvious reasons when it comes to parts The team members in Ecuador were working on. So lets first hope that everyone are OK and that their Friends / Relatives are all Ok and lets give them time to get everything in order on the home front. After all DCS is just a game (And for them a Hobby/Work) But in cases like these Life has to go first.
spiddx Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 Sooo, does anyone know what the new dashed red and yellow lines on the radar display mean? :) Specs: i9 10900K @ 5.1 GHz, EVGA GTX 1080Ti, MSI Z490 MEG Godlike, 32GB DDR4 @ 3600, Win 10, Samsung S34E790C, Vive, TIR5, 10cm extended Warthog on WarBRD, Crosswinds
OldE24 Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 (edited) that's easy red lines are jamming like you would see in SU/F-15, what i'm trying to figure out is what is difference between BFR ENT and HRF. the symbology changes in BRF to what zeus talked about the boxes but i missed what each settins exactly is. the radar elevation keeps going WAY up or WAY down causing issues. at burn through the line goes yello....then green if friendly.
