If the target is above you then you shouldn't lose lock You can lose lock only when target is ether Notching you but he has to go at the 90 degree angle from you and below you by getting masked by the ground and using side effect of doppler radar The doppler Notch [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Youtube Reddit
Conroy Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 No, it was a good lock (on my 11 level), and i've had the time to switch on the Magic as soon as i've lost my lock with 530, so it wasn't notching me. It was locking me at the same time, and probably it was also releasing chaff but my 530 was really close to hit. However i don't have taken the track, so my fault here....

mattebubben Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 This have been stated before but remember the update has only been made for the Open beta. And most MP servers dont operate the Open beta so it might cause some problems if you are running Open beta but the server does not.

And you are actually able to join them as well with no directly obvious problems but as the server does not have the Open beta changes its possible there are Incompatibilities that are not obvious. mattebubben Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 I cant say since when all i can say is me and others using the latest Open Beta Client version have been able to see and play on server that do not use this open beta Version. And you do have the changes like the ability to use 4x magics and that you no longer have the ED missiles aswell as the other changes made in the open beta version. And it felt to me like the radar was working much better then in the older versions but i cant say 100% that it worked as well as in SP thats why i mentioned it.
Conroy Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 Yes, in single it works better. I don't know if this problem could be related (also) to the lag problem we have online, but really is too easy lost the lock also with PIC. The target is usually an F-15C (104th first of all).

Currently it is possible to see servers running the stable release version while using the beta version. Joining them is not possible atm though, because the game will crash upon loading (at least that's the case for me). It was possible 2-3 weeks ago though, where both branches were on different versions too. The next time both versions get upgraded it can already be a different situation (e.g. joining servers are not visible or joining will be posible again). But like mattebubben said, even if joining is possible it can lead to unexpected problems. Edit: I'm only talking about situations, where the open beta branch is one version ahead of the stable release branch. Yet there are many in this thread playing on that server with the Open beta Version. i have been playing on 104th and 337's server useing the beta version of the mirage works fine last long time all the 1.5.3 "UPDATES" have worked. 8700k@4.7 32GB ram, 1080TI hybrid SC2

Rlaxoxo Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 I just went out for a sortie on a MP server and surprisingly I didn't have much issues with radar The lock hold stable for both PID (TWS) and PIC (STT) 1 S530 got spoofed by chaff but then the 2nd one hit the target all while maintaining lock Only issue I seam to have is with the PID ... The relative closure rate was constantly decreasing and I needed to use PIC to get correct closure rate [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Youtube Reddit

Cantiga Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 Sector Search in PID seems odd. Once you've locked the target, radar starts scanning opposite side of target and lock breaks.
