I'm putting this in the general forum rather than bugs because I'm assuming it is pilot error and I'm hoping somebody can explain it to me.

A few times now I've taken off in the 21 but have no roll authority. It's not an input problem as the stick in the cockpit moves to match my inputs, the aircraft just doesn't respond. Pitch is fine obviously as I'd never have got it off the ground.

The only thing I can suggest is I have cold started on all the missions where its been a problem. Could I have missed a switch or gone through the process too fast?

Any help or suggestions would be welcome. Thanks.

It is aileron booster switch, in front of the throttle lever and rato/flare drop switch. Push it forward, otherwise you would need rambo arms to wrestle and pump the ailerons just a tiny bit...

I remember that during v1.2 of DCS, the switch was automatically ON but is no longer the case.

I will try that, thanks.

Yup, took off without it, same problem, turned it on and voila! I would have had a lot of problems with that, thanks Spectrum.

It happened to me on my first try on the 104th server. Started up nicely alongside another Fishbed and we took off together.... And then, drama.... Impossible to follow the guy.

I couldn't for the hell of me see what was wrong, I wasted 2 migs before logging out in shame....

Found the answer on C6 forums, too late :(

Whisper of old OFP & C6 forums, now Kalbuth.

Gentlemen, I suggest getting to know your aircraft of choice and its systems a whole lot better.

I took off, couldnt bank. Checked the aileron booster switch, saw it in the off position and turned it on.

Checked the forum a little later and saw patch notes "aileron booster switch logic altered"

And lo, Reverend Vegas did say "Take forth unto the infidel the mighty GAU 8 and expend its holy 30MM so that freedom will be brung upon them who knoweth not the joys of BBBBBBBRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRTTTTTTTTTT"

"Amen"

hahahahaha you expect too much out of people :megalol:

there's like 5 different versions of this thread posted at various subforum levels, if people cant be bothered to look at threads posted before do you think they'd bother with patch note documentation or -- god forbid -- actually taking the time to learn the airplane?
