I set the realism to the max on the first try, and even then the FMs were a bit different from those in FS 9 regarding to the stall behavior, in FS 9 it's impossible to do some decent post stall manoeuvres, with fs 10 you have more control. JG27_Arklight Posted August 10, 2006 Share Posted August 10, 2006 this is what I think: - Nice water, really nice. - Same old scenery with more objects but same old tecnology (with same old problems) - New aircrafts... - Medium low performance (we need DX10...) - Ugly cockpits (same as fs2004) - Nice view controls (smooth, mouse view..., smooth zoom in and out..) - Nice sounds - Nice flight model (better than fs2004) In other words It looks like fs2004 with few good addons, I don't feel it as a new sim. Let's wait for final version and see... edit: - great light effects on surfaces.. You gotta read the readme. ;) The scenery, aircraft textures, aircraft LODs, "Bloom", and a bunch of other stuff is still a WIP. The VC Gauges seem a lot smoother now. There's a pretty good increase in that area, which is very nice. Being able to do IFR approaches in minimums will be good. Guys, the Demo is a BETA. There is still quite a few things they are still working on per the readme and the Dev. guys. The Demo, while nice, is of course not "great", but it is an improvement over FS9. Once they get the stuff fixed that needs to be fixed I'm sure it will get better. With the addition of Vista and DirectX 10 later it will only get better. Give it time folks. It really isn't fair to judge a product based on a time limited, single area, beta version. Maybe DX10 will solve the problem or my graphics settings are wrong... Fence around airports should be transparent but if behind the fence stands a building, hill, trees or other objects I see horizon. Shadow of my airplane drops in the cockpit in some areas. In night I see strange white auroras in the sky. Still have the same bug from fs9 with replays. For example after take-off and retracting gear up I turn on instant replay back to the moment when I should have gear down FS X shows gear down animation. It's killin' me! Then look the other way and zoom still works. Maybe I don't understand you precisely. Guys, don't worry about these bugs, its beta-demo. F.e. that graphical effects 'plane casts shadows on itself' doesn't work for me, if I turn this on, my plane is grey. It's pretty much beta, oh yeah.
