Gary Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Hi, I was wondering if there are any details available of ATC improvements being worked towards? I understand "everything is subject to change" and I'm not asking for release predictions or alike. This is a part of the simulation experience that is generally seen as a weak area of the whole experience and some details of the functionallity ED are striving for would be much appreciated. ATC improvements have been quoted a few times - I'm really asking for for a little more detail though please. Regards, Gary I5 - 1TB SSHD, 256 SSD - Nvidia 1070 - 16gb ram - CV1

Sorry - not sure I understand what you are saying? You mean you don't know what aspect can be improved? What makes you think there will be details in the next newsletter? - I do hope so, that would be great. I5 - 1TB SSHD, 256 SSD - Nvidia 1070 - 16gb ram - CV1
Pikey Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 I was kindda wondering if there are new features in store or if it's more along the lines of getting the existing features working better. Also if there are restrictions on maps, for example Nevada has some nicely laid out taxiways and more robust airspace procedures. It's worth considering if each future map might come with some limited airspace and airfield design for ATC and how far the scope of the "improved" ATC system as mentioned in January might go. ATC could change a little or a lot so it's definitely worth pondering. ___________________________________________________________________________ SIMPLE SCENERY SAVING * SIMPLE GROUP SAVING * SIMPLE STATIC SAVING *
Silver_Dragon Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Wags dont make details about them, only "we working on them", nothing more. Need wait for future news. Phantom453 Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 An updated and improved ATC has been in the mill for quite some time. An improved ATC, and eventually the entire comms systems, is the next major improvement I'd personally like to see after dynamic campaigns. Given and improved ATC has been in the development pipeline for quite some time, it would be nice to see it arrive sooner rather than later. A slick, fairly realistic and fully functional ATC system would be such a game changer from an immersion POV IMHO. I seem to recall in some of Matt's NTTR pre Alpha release demo videos (or perhaps it was one of the Q&A videos; I can't quite remember) they actually had disable the new ATC system because they were having a few issues with it.
Rogue Trooper Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 Whew... the next upgrade after dynamic campaigns... now that is a long old wait! Personally I think coms should be a module (a cheapish module) ATC and JTAC done fast (cash incentive) and with the professionalism we need. Throw in online live radio coms as well as artillery call and we are almost there and fast. Limit easy artillery/location calls for observation vehicles/aircraft and I think we are going somewhere soon. Should artillery AI and ease of use in SP/MP also be linked to combined arms? HP G2 Reverb (Needs upgrading), Windows 10 VR settings: IPD is 64.5mm, High image quality, G2 reset to 60Hz refresh rate. set to OpenXR, but Open XR tool kit disabled. DCS: Pixel Density 1.0, Forced IPD at 55 (perceived world size), DLSS setting is quality at 1.0. VR Driver system: I9-9900KS 5Ghz CPU. XI Hero motherboard and RTX 3090 graphics card, 64 gigs Ram, No OC... Everything needs upgrading in this system!. Vaicom user and what a superb freebie it is! Virpil Mongoose T50M3 base & Mongoose CM2 Grip (not set for dead stick), Virpil TCS collective with counterbalance kit (woof woof). Virpil Apache Grip (OMG). MFG pedals with damper upgrade. Total controls Apache MPDs set to virtual Reality height. Simshaker Jet Pro vibration seat.. Uses data from DCS not sound... goodbye VRS.
msalama Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 done fast (cash incentive) and with the professionalism we need Ummm... don't want to be the cloud that pishes on the parade here, but this may be a contradiction regardless. Just may, though ;) The DCS Mi-8MTV2. The best aviational BBW experience you could ever dream of.
Gary Posted April 5, 2016 Author Posted April 5, 2016 Why has this thread been moved to "wishlists"? This isn't a feature request. It's a request for more information on confirmed development. Moving this here just means it's hidden away and less people see it. Anyway.....any chance the team could provide any details? Regards, Gary I5 - 1TB SSHD, 256 SSD - Nvidia 1070 - 16gb ram - CV1
Silver_Dragon Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 Gary. ED dont get any info. Actualy all newsletter infos has only "plan" into the big roadmap of DCS World. meanwhile only can wait to a new newsletter, a official post or a patch with al descripción of official features.
