Xxx Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 The Night Vision System is marked as "Disabled". Is there a mod some where that enables a night vision goggle system for the Black Shark? Jim L Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 The Night Vision System is marked as "Disabled". Is there a mod some where that enables a night vision goggle system for the Black Shark? Just re learning how to fly this superb study sim..... This and the A10C were my first DCS sims and boy have they stood the test of time... Regards Hi! Accipiter, not 100% sure but think you have to ask the ground crew at start of mission to supply NV goggles, hope this helps but should say in the manual if you look for NVG.
QuiGon Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 Jim L is right. No need for a mod, the Black Shark already has NVGs. Just ask the Ground Crew to give them to you. They will replace the helmet sight with NVGs. So it's either one or the other. Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!
flanker0ne Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 (edited) If you spawn after the "official" sunset and before the surise you will have the NVG automatically installed. This should you lead to some evaluation of your attack time when the mission span in the transitory minutes around these illumination events. Sometime the takeoff happen by night but the attack take place with sunlight, so you loose the HMD advantages. Or contrary, you TO at dawn for an attack by night without NVG. Like the HMD, the confirmation of wich equipment is installed can be obtained only with DC electrical power, from generators or from external power. Xxx Posted March 30, 2016 Author Posted March 30, 2016 (edited) Thanks very much guys. I forgot about the ground crew changing the HMD for you! What a superb study sim this is! I have not flown it since 1.2 and this evolution is just superb. :smartass: Now does any one know how I can set the ADF frequencies on the AR-22? The presets are all coded in, but I think you can amend the code somewhere in the sim? I found this in the manual, but it does not state where the codes are located. "While in real life the frequencies for each ADF channel are set by ground personnel, you can edit these in the ADF configuration files outside the simulation." I would just like to know what channel pre-sets are for which airport. I think you can also set the ADF pointer to point to your wing man, but since he's on the data link that's probably not needed. Thanks again. Edited March 30, 2016 by Accipiter ADF question [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]i7 Haswell @ 4.6Ghz, Z97p, GTX1080, 32GB DDR3, x3SSD, Win7/64, professional. 32" BenQ, TIR 5, Saitek x55 HOTAS. DieHard Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 (edited) I'll give it a try: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2340595&highlight=ADF+presets#post2340595 Chuck's Guide here: (do a L Control + f ; search for ADF) https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-uSpZROuEd3U1VZWWNBam9ZdDg/view?pli=1 This post goes back to 2013, may not still apply, path may have changed http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=1794329&highlight=ADF+presets#post1794329 Edited March 30, 2016 by DieHard [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Flagrum Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 ADF-22 frequencies can be set within the mission editor - no mod necessary (anymore ... since 1.5.0 iirc)
Xxx Posted March 30, 2016 Author Posted March 30, 2016 ADF-22 frequencies can be set within the mission editor - no mod necessary (anymore ... since 1.5.0 iirc) Thanks, I had no idea you could set the ADF frequencies in the mission editor. Its been a few years since I did any missions for the Black Shark!:smilewink: The 8 presets originally only had the northern Russian bases pre tuned, so it would be nice to have the southern bases. That's before getting to Nevada!:) Cheers. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]i7 Haswell @ 4.6Ghz, Z97p, GTX1080, 32GB DDR3, x3SSD, Win7/64, professional. 32" BenQ, TIR 5, Saitek x55 HOTAS.
