Kuky Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 (edited) I've just had a brain fart :) but would still like to share it in case this is actually very doable Well first off all what is the consequences of higher G-Force? 1. Its the increase of weight on your body pulling you into the seat 2. loss of blood in your brain due to blood being pushed down Now, I'll pass on the second as I don't know how you could simulate this other than either start draining your blood out by some pump, and then back into your arm :music_whistling: but the first is somewhat doable Imagine you have a seat where there are straps tied over your shoulders (or could even go to the extreme and make some over your head), now all you need is them to be strong (but comfortable) straps that are being pulled down (tightened) by some motorized roller? The more G you pull in the sim, the tighter the straps pull you down into the seat? Good idea or not? I imagine this would not require some very fancy or space consuming setup, all you'd need is something to pull the straps which would give same effect as G-force pulling you into the seat? You could go more detailed and add some straps to your arm to pull them down also. Crazy I know... but I have a felling this could actually work :) Edited April 12, 2016 by Kuky PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR

Kuky Posted April 12, 2016 Author Posted April 12, 2016 Yeah... something like that (above video). But on more thought I think lot of pressure from the strap could poten5ially break the colar bones... so better scrap this idea. KLR Rico Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 When I read the first post I started thinking "what are they going to put on the tombstone?", "He died doing what he loved best -- playing a flight simulator" :D The G-Seat is amazing, pulling out of a gun run on the A-10, or punching the afterburner on an F-15, it's crazy. I built one and a few other members are working on builds. If you have the means to do it, everyone should have one. :D i5-4670K@4.5GHz / 16 GB RAM / SSD / GTX1080 Rift CV1 / G-seat / modded FFB HOTAS
Nooch Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 (edited) I don't know about using straps... I'm afraid it can't be done this way. The feeling you will get would vastly differ from when actually pulling g's in a plane because of how the force is applied on your body. The straps won't exert a force homogeneously spread throughout your body like acceleration does so I guess the feeling will be quite different... But using a seat that inclines or bends itself, yeah great idea! :) Edited April 12, 2016 by Nooch [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
ggerman Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 Just to add to all of that, you'd need to also have a pair of "speed jeans" inflating and deflating the whole time...
Frusheen Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 My seat is progressing well. I've no need for the inflatable trousers as I only really fly helicopters. Ha. For me it's less about high G-force and more about feeling subtle movement. I'm also incorporating the vib motors from a gametrix Jetseat into the pressure flaps.
