Pac-Man Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 I figured it may be a good idea to get a page going designated to youtube tutorials [ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N7D8wc2nXu8[/ame] -Basic Operation of the F-15C [ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AWilOsNJo5U[/ame] -ILS Landing F-15C [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] http://www.Vcw13.com Asus Z270 Prime-A | i7-7700k | 32G Corsair Vengeance DDR4 3200 | EVGA RTX 2080ti | 2x 960 EVO M.2 in RAID 0 | 500GB SSD | Thrustmaster Warthog | Pimax 5K Plus https://www.youtube.com/c/OverKillSims
fitness88 Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 (edited) Excellent idea! I enjoyed the tutorial...I'm an object learning type. 1508 meters was the runway elevation, you mentioned being 1520 feet over the runway for stall point...did you mean 1520 meters so you would have 12 meters of stall altitude? What is the reason for throttling up and raising the airbrake just before wheels touchdown? Edited April 19, 2016 by fitness88

What is the reason for throttling up and raising the airbrake just before wheels touchdown? American aircraft operate in feet not meters. The data chart shows 1508m for runway elevation. The HUD on the f-15c shows 1490 at touchdown. 1m is 3.2ft. So correct elevation in meters would be approx 4800ft. I explained that when i was showing the map. I pointed that out so you would be aware that a better way to look at the data chart is in ft. This way your stall point is only about 30ft give or take. The throttle right before touchdown adds a brief float before contact typically making the landing softer as you would see me correctly do in the ILS tutorial. I was tired as hell and botched the landing in the Basic Ops tutorial. The airbrake is used right before contact to set the landing point. You make the approach at just below stall speed while executing the flair. The airbrake initiates the landing and helps stop the aircraft on the runway. Coming off the Mig-29s I keep forgetting the F-15 has no radar altimeter on the HUD just barometric altimeter.

I believe Vazianni runway 13 is 460m/1509ft elevation.
