Multiplayer Success?

I was wondering if anyone has had much success online with the Mirage against FC3 aircraft. If so, what tactics have been working for you? Relatively new to CAP/ATA, and perhaps the Mirage isn't great for noobs.

 

Keep on getting owned, but the Mirage is just too damn fun to fly!

yes, check out my youtube channel, mainly fly the mig-21 online, but there's a few mirage kills in there too....

 

mostly I fly up to 12,000-14,000 meters, above contrail level, and then point my radar way down, though sometimes I fly it like the mig-21 or mig-29 too.

 

the mirage is actually really good on fuel up high.

I got splashed by Mirages.. And got some good amount of splashes in the Mirage as well. My best was a 2 hour MP session with 8 kills and 3 deaths against different types of fighters. So yes it's pretty deadly when used correctly.

Yes she is very competitive in MP, just remember you don't have as many missiles so you either need to get in close for guns (which she excels at) or break contact once you have taken your shots.

 

Once we get Auto lock she will be even better.

She is in no way easymode.

 

But if you play her right she is still very competitive

 

I did a short sortie tonight (first MP game since the update)

 

And i did rather well.

 

with 4 kills for no loss (Got Damaged and had to rtb without a kill on the first killed 1 on the second got another on on the third and killed 2 on the last sortie)

 

And did not die once.

 

So play to your strengths and you can do very well in MP.

 

She is agile and nimble and is effective in WVR combat and will get even better once we get the ability to slave the Magic IIs seeker to the radar.

 

Personally i tend to fly a bit cowardly when i use the mirage 2000.

 

I avoid open ground head on fights with F-15s and Su-27s since that is giving them the advantage since they will be able to fire first and can just keep tossing missiles untill they get you.

 

So instead i use ambush tactics or try to attack a enemy that either has not seen me or is focused on something else.

 

I tend to go in for close mostly Visual range combat with the 530 being used on the merge or if a chase occurs.

 

And the Magic II if you get close enough / a dogfight starts.

 

And i prefer to fly in mountinous terrain (if there are F-15s and Su-27s with ERs on the enemy team)

 

Since that will let me close into firing range without having to start dodging Aim-120s.

 

But thats just how i fly it everyone has to find what works for them =).

 

Its a Great fighter and its pretty much the only Fighter i fly in MP right now.

I treat it like a 27 get in low undetected get a shot off and run :thumbup:
